Upon arrival, the home appeared clean and check-in was smooth. The next morning, we reported an ant issue in the kitchen, bathroom, and primary bedroom. We were offered two smaller homes that were not suitable for our family, so we remained at the rental after being provided ant traps, which we placed as instructed. On June 1st, I woke with a large red mark on my left arm, which I initially attributed to the ant issue. Over the following days, both my daughter and I developed additional bites after sleeping in the same bed at the rental. I received a medical diagnosis from a doctor that the bites were consistent with bedbug exposure, and I shared that we had no prior exposure before this stay. My doctor explained that reactions can take 1–14 days to appear and are common in communal settings such as rentals. I contacted customer support and was told management would reach out, but there was no follow-up. We had our home professionally inspected and no evidence of infestation was found. We completed recommended preventative treatment due to having brought our clothing, luggage, and belongings from the property and wanted to reduce opportunity for spread. This has been very distressing for our family. We had to cancel plans and manage extensive cleaning and mitigation efforts. I personally suffered more than 38 bites across my body. We would not recommend this property and its management given our experience and the lack of any response or care.
