4/10 – Schlecht

Got the job done, but wouldn not recommend or return.
Good location with a shuttle every 30 min to Lionshead, but you're on your own on Mon.&Tue. because they aren't running the shuttle those days. Self parking is $20-$35 at Vail and BC or walk a few icy blocks to the city bus. Good size unit. Comfortable beds, but we did develop a wet respiratory cough after a night or two that carried throughout the week (not COVID-19 after testing), but that can be attributed to the black mold we found around the windows. There was also a large hair ball on the floor and hair covered bathroom hair dryer. On site laundry is a nice feature when traveling two weeks with children; however, don't plan on doing laundry here as the lobby is only accessible from 8am-3:30pm. We ended up cutting an expensive ski day short (~$229 Vail lift ticket x 4 people) to come back and do some much needed laundry, but while the washer was running the manager said that he would be locking the doors shortly and that we would have to leave. He said that we could leave our wet clothes in the washer or in our room until the morning. After some back and forth with the manager, he said that across the highway behind Ace Hardwear is a public laundry facility. However, he failed to mention that the facility is a wash and fold service. The good new is that after speaking with the laundry folks about our situation they were able to dry our clothes for $10, with an additional $10 for helping. Also, Vail received a total of around 20 inches of snow while we were there which was great for skiing, but tough on the parking lot situation. So, be fully prepared to spend some time using the facility provided shovels to clear a section of the parking lot if you need to driv. Be careful to watch for ice along the walkways and frozen/stuck door when entering or leaving the pool area.
All in all this property got the job done and we had a great vacation, but after speaking with other folks who stayed on this property and those that stayed at the onsite mountain resort, this property wiill be a hard pass next time. If you plan to use COVID-19 as a reason for adjusting services (i.e. laundry, shuttle, cleaning, and snow removal) then please communicate that in advance, so your guests can make plans in advance. COVID-19 rate vs market rate should apply. These comments were consistent with the two other families we met during the stay, with one of those families heading back to Boulder (with dirty clothes) to check if their home was still standing post fires.
