„House needed a good deep clean for spider webs and dust. But general level of cleanliness re kitchen bedding etc was OK. Great location. Fantastic garden but remember to note it is a shared garden. We kept our dog on long lead. Neighbours 2 dogs and 2 children were not !!!! Their dog poo left on our areas. Fence needed please as this really impcted on our stay“

„This is a very quirky old house with lots of period features. Our group (4 adults, 4 children) enjoyed our stay and it was big enough for the older kids to find somewhere to chill but cosy enough for us all to eat together in the conservatory and play games in front of the wood burning stove. A minor flaw was the lack of hot water (even after the immersion heater had been on for an hour) and the low water pressure. The house was well located for Windermere and South Lakes Zoo. „The house lies quietly and somewhat hidden close to Lake Windemeer and offers all amenities you may require. It is professionally run, various signs eliminate any potential uncertainties. There are nice sitting niches in the windows for reading and enjoying the scenery.“

„Lovely cosy cottage. Well equiped and spotlessly clean. Lovely location overlooking allotments with a friendly scarecrow. No parking in front of cottage (,parking in layby 50yrds up the road), which is a minor inconvenience but manageable. Would stay again if looking for a quiet & peaceful weekend.“

„This cottage is perfect for a relaxing break or holiday close to the Lakes. Very well maintained with a private and pretty garden. Linen and bedding are a bit tired, perhaps the owners would consider renewing them at some point. Although toilet rolls and handwash were supposed to be supplied, there was none, which we assumed was an oversight. However, I would recommend this accommodation and I would stay tere again if I needed to stay in the area.“

We will definitely come back as a week wasn't long enough to visit all the ppints of interest. My only moan, is that in the vrbo listing, there was no mention of bedding & towels being provided by the proprietor. This was resolved with a quick message to Kate before we travelled up.“
