Great Vacation Stay

Lots of room, house was very clean and fit all 19 of us very comfortably. Kitchen had everything you needed and the 2nd fridge in the garage was a huge win. Beds were very comfortable and cozy. AC worked when we needed. Absolutely wonderful place.

Big Family Vaca 2024

This homestead was amazing! Our family of 18 was very comfortable. Firewood was provided with more available to purchase for S’more fun! The sandbar was perfect for our Littles water play. The young adults and teens enjoyed the kayaks, peddle boat and hot tub. The kitchen was well supplied. Thankful there was a nice gas grill! Copious amounts of towels. Immensely enjoyed the screened in porch. We rented a pontoon which provided added fun for fishing, swimming and cruising. For our large group a second fridge in the garage or deep foyer closet would have been a godsend. Perfect vacation! Great memories.

Perfect spot for family vacay

This was our third annual family stay at Derby Lodge. We are a large group, ranging in age from 6 to 85, and everyone loves the house and the lake. We love to swim, fish, kayak, and paddle board. We caught lots of bass and bluegill from the dock and out on the pedal boat. Lake is crystal clear with sandy shallow entry. Not much boat traffic, so kids can swim and paddle safely. House is sparkling clean, well appointed, fully stocked kitchen. We love to cook and the grocery store is just a couple minutes away. This is the perfect location to enjoy time together as a family. There is plenty of space to spread out, for different groups to relax, play games, and talk, and the dining room and porch offer lots of seating for meals. The house, lake, and small town location are the perfect combination for a family hoping to step away from the busy day to day and enjoy time together reconnecting.

Friends Lakefront Getaway

We had an amazing time staying at the Derby Lodge this Spring! The house was laid out perfectly for 5 couples and their kids to gather and it was well stocked with everything we needed! Troy did an amazing job of proving all the information we could possibly need on the house and we would happily stay again!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

We stayed at the Derby Lodge with three families - 15 people in total - for a weekend getaway. The kids had a great time playing hide and seek and board games in the dining room. Our stay lived up to our expectations.

Derby Lake a Great Find!

Our family of 14 had a wonderful week on Derby Lake. Troy made booking and check in so smooth. Troy communicates well which is something that I look for in all of my VRBO rentals worldwide. The house was amazing and there was so much space that our families had plenty of room to find places for themselves or gather together. The lake is exceedingly clean and we learned that it is a pre-historic lake and one of the cleanest lakes in Michigan. Lots of fun and would return. Highly recommend! Best house on the lake

Great Lake. Perfect size for everything. Perfect house for a large family. Great kitchen tools and utensils. Everything you could ask for. Vacation in style. Beautiful Place

My family does an annual weekly trip and this place was absolutely perfect for us. There are 13 of us total and the house offered plenty of space inside and out. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed and more, the house was clean and the beds were comfortable. The home owners are wonderful and answered all of my questions quickly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Derby Lodge Never Disappoints

This was our second time staying at Derby Lodge as a three generation family get away and it was picture perfect. House was spotless when we arrived. The lake is beautiful! Crystal clear water, sandy bottom in the shallows. We swam, kayaked, sailed, and paddled stand up paddle boards. The shallow area is perfect for our younger kiddos, and teens could paddle out on SUPs and kayaks. We fished from the dock and the pedal boat and caught bass, perch, and bluegill. Since we’re a large group we cook rather than eat out and the kitchen had everything we needed. Grocery store is less than 10 minutes away and the grill worked perfectly. We had plenty of space to spread out with games, puzzles and crafts when kids needed a break from the sun. We plan to come back next year- the house, lake, and location are ideal for a family gathering.

Beautiful lakeside cottage!

This lakeside cottage is very nice and very spacious! It accommodated our 15 people very comfortably. Lots of beds and separate bedrooms, plenty of room in the great room, dining room and kitchen for all of us even on a rainy day. The two mile walk around the lake was a big hit for all of us, especially the section through the woods and over the creek. Lovely lake!

Amazing. Peaceful and clean

I have rented several VRBOs and this one was by far the cleanest and well stocked from towels. Toiletries, kitchen and even shampoo/conditioner. The views were amazing, loved our bonfires at night under the moon and peaceful waters. Many of us enjoyed the hot tub and the features of this rental were all amazing. Cute themed rooms and all so inviting and comfortable. We absolutely loved this place and would recommend to anyone!!!

Wonderful cabin on the lake

What a wonderful place to stay. Nice lake View! We enjoyed going out on the paddle boat and using the fire pit. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. Very clean bathrooms and we enjoyed a meal in the dining room. Highly recommend!

jaw dropping the second we walked in. everything was clean and well taken care of. the kitchen, closets and bathrooms were fully stocked with all the necessities. the layout was also perfect and practical for large parties. you don’t feel like you’re on top of each other. we will definitely be back!

We LOVED it and it was everything plus more!

Troy and Shanna do a GREAT job! The property is WONDERFUL! It exceeded our expectations! It was fully stocked with very nice supplies. It even had a medical emergency kit. They thought of everything. We would highly recommend staying there. We hope to be back next year. We had a problem with the garage door. Troy came by to fix and brought worms for fishing. They are delightful hosts.

Gorgeous house, beautiful lake, perfect vacation spot

My family has been taking an annual vacation together for 20+ years. This is the best house we have ever rented, no question. The lake is beautiful: clear water, shallow sandy entry, not a lot of noise or boat traffic. We fished every day and caught bluegill, bass, crappie, and perch. We kayaked and paddle boarded every day- the kayaks and pedal boat are in great condition and we enjoyed using them; we also brought our own SUPs. Sunset is a beautiful time to paddle but the lake is quiet enough to send kids out in kayaks or SUPs even on weekend afternoons. The house was spotless when we arrived, and had literally everything we needed. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking: high quality pots and pans, plenty of dishes, and space to put away groceries. Leppinks grocery store is 5 min away and had everything we needed but there’s a Meijer nearby as well if you needed more specialty groceries. Bathrooms are lovely and we had more than enough towels. Fire pit was perfect for evening s’mores and having some firewood provided was a nice touch. Owners were friendly and responsive; check in and check out were easy. I genuinely can’t say enough good things about the house and the lake: we can’t wait to come back.
