„Having been a former palace for one of the ruling families, the ambience is very special and sets aside Shanker Hotel from other hotel. It has a beautiful park-like greenery with a pool. Tough it is very close to the city centre, it is totally quiet and peaceful. This was my third visit“

„Lovely hotel with nice, big rooms beautiful pool/bar area, great gym and nice staff. It is also located in a nice area with walking distance to several places including buddha stoupa, without being a noisy area. Breakfast was okay, a little lacking for our taste BUT the omelet and the fruits were VERY nice. Again: staff was very helpful and nice! Some minus for: the floors in the room could have had a scrubbing down. Not a huge issue for us but still.“

The best time to see the mountains is early morning. With luck, it will be clear enough to see Annapurna and Mount Everest. We were lucky enough to see both. The property was nice, comfortable, and the restaurant had great food. “
