"If you’re after a stunning view, Duck Bay certainly delivers – the loch is breathtaking. Sadly, that’s where the charm ends. The rest feels like a duck decoy: glossy on the surface, but hollow underneath. Reception staff weren’t rude, but they might as well have been automated – check-in and check-out were delivered in flat monotone, and no one seemed to care that my stay was merely “okay.” The room was basic, with decor so synthetic it practically quacked of plastic. The smell of it lingered until I opened the patio doors – but that just invited in mosquitos. The bathroom was worse: black mould in the shower, a glass shelf that made every bottle placed on it slide off, and water pressure so weak it barely qualified as a shower. To top it off, music from the deserted outdoor area blared into the night. Reception had already shut by 9pm, so I had to call the restaurant to have it turned down. Duck Bay may look the part, but for the price of a supposedly three-star hotel, it’s all plastic feathers and no real duck. I won’t be paddling back."

"Sehr schönes kleines Hotel, direkt am Meer, man muss wissen das die Zimmer nicht arg groß sind aber perfekt eingerichtet. Man kann direkt im Hotel Essen aber es hat tolle Restaurants und auch Einkaufsmöglichkeiten direkt vor der Tür. Für den Start einer Schottland Reise perfekt."

"Das junge Servicepersonal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Ein einchecken vor 15:00 Uhr war nicht möglich. Auch eine spontane Teilnahme am Afternoon-Tea war nicht möglich. Obwohl nur ein Tisch besetzt war. In der Bar bekamen wir unseren tea with sconesnda die sehr nette Bedienung in der Küche nachgefragt hat. Tausend Dank dafür. "

"Leider ging weder die Heizung noch konnte man den Kaltwasserhahn aufdrehen, so dass Duschen unmöglich wurde, da Wasser fast kochend heiß. Abendessen und Frühstück soweit okay. Bett seeehr klein und Wasserhahn am Waschbecken tropfte. "
