My husband, son (4.5 years old), and I had a wonderful vacation at The Point. We loved having a dock for morning coffee and a dock for a sunset campfire (in the solo stove). It really does feel like you are in a boat when you sit in the living room, due to the water views on each side. The water is crystal clear - we loved to watch the fish and other lake life.
The beds were comfortable. Two of the bedrooms in the main cabin face (and are very, very close to) the lake, so one can open the windows to hear the lake at night, if one would like. It can probably be heard from the other bedrooms as well, but I didn't try those out.
The property was clean and well maintained. Jeremy was pleasant and great with communication. He responded to texts so quickly that I briefly suspected chatbot (which I happen to have been dealing with frequently as of late), but he is a real person with the ability to text at superhuman speed.
We hope to return to The Point and also to visit the other DC Cabin Collective cabins. It was almost, but not quite, warm enough to swim during our visit, so we plan to aim for a slightly warmer time of year for our next visit to The Point.
There is one thing to note if someone in your group can't easily bathe in an overhead shower: there is neither a bathtub nor (I am pretty sure) a shower wand, so plan accordingly. I was so dazzled by the property that I didn't key into this until it was time to bathe our 4.5 YO. This wouldn't have had any impact on our decision to vacation at The Point, but I probably would have pulled the baby tub out of storage and brought it along had I noticed this earlier. Just mentioning it here in hopes of helping others who can't easily bathe in an overhead shower. I'm sure that if I had asked Jeremy for help he would have made a tub appear or worked some other magic, but we just powered through with the overhead shower and cut our son's bathing schedule from 1x/day to 1x/week - it is vacation, after all. Also note that it is very possible that one of the shower heads was convertible into a shower wand and I was just too mechanically inept to figure it out.
Anyway, do not hesitate to book The Point through the Door County Cabin Collective website (or another website of your choice, although I ran the numbers for all options and determined that, as one would expect, the Door County Cabin Collective website provides the best pricing).
