Spacious Lakehouse on Lac Courte Oreilles

Tamarack Lodge sits on one of northern Wisconsin's most beautiful lakes, Lac Courte Oreilles. Our great-grandfather bought this land in 1913 as a summer musky-fishing retreat, choosing it for the sunsets, the sandy lake bottom, and its spot near Point O' Pines in the middle of the lake. Five generations later, we're excited to share it with you.

This large, modern home has lake views and 5 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms, sleeping 10. Gather around the wood-burning fireplace on cool evenings, cook in the fully equipped kitchen, and enjoy relaxing on the screened-in porch. Outside, there's a grill, a fire pit for evening s'mores, and a private dock with a bench where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets.

Guests can use our paddleboat, canoe, kayak and small motor boat, plus life jackets, noodles and floats. The sandy lake bottom makes for easy swimming, and anglers can take advantage of LCO's rare two-story fishery. Golfers have plenty of options nearby, from a casual par-3 to beautiful courses like Hayward Golf, Big Fish Golf, Spider Lake and Butternut Hills.

Autumn is a beautiful season on the lake, with hardwoods around the shoreline turning gold and red. In October, nearby Stone Lake hosts the popular Cranberry Festival.

Hayward is home to the American Birkebeiner, North America's largest cross-country ski race, and its trail system offers miles of groomed skiing for every level. Winter also brings snowshoeing, snowmobiling and ice fishing.

Stone Lake, about 15 minutes away, has cute shops, Red Schoolhouse Wines and the Stone Lake Pub. Hayward is a quintessential Northwoods town with a lively downtown, Tremblay's Fudge, and favorites like Angler's Bar & Grill, Angry Minnow Brewing and Main Street Tacos. Closer to home, Trails End Bar & Grill is right on Lac Courte Oreilles, and Trailways 27 offers a classic Wisconsin supper club experience.
