Town: The picturesque village of Oakamoor, which has recently been granted Conservation Area status, and which is immaculately maintained, is located in the beautiful and peaceful Churnet Valley, in the Staffordshire Moorlands. As the name suggests, it is surrounded by woodland, and is an ideal base for walkers, ramblers, cyclists and nature lovers. There is a former railway line running alongside the River Churnet from Oakamoor Picnic area to Denstone which is perfect for gentle cycling and walking, and there are numerous public footpaths, many of which converge in “Woods and Ways” and “Heritage” Trails around the village.
