House was perfect for our stay. Girls Trip with my mom and 2 sisters. This house is walking distance to Lady Di's - great breakfast. Then when we headed back to the house, we stopped at "Upshots" & had coffee. Then we jumped in the car & headed to Main street, which was about a 5 min drive. The house was super clean. We loved the arches in the house to keep the aesthetics, but the upgrades were very nice! I had the upstairs bedroom. Ceiling fan with window air unit. Jack N Jill bath with VERY nice shower & soaking tub. The jar of bath bombs was awesome! The kitchen had jars of tea, Keurig coffee, creamer & sweetener. All of us girls grabbed our drinks & sat on the front porch on the rockers in the morning before we headed out for the day. There are tons of cubbies w/ lots of extra pillows, towels & blankets. When we returned from a long day of shopping & eating, we turned on the TV and watched Netflix. The house was super spacious & the back yard was super cute. We didn't have enough time to use the outdoor space, but it was very cute. The extra touches from the snacks on the cabinet to the drinks in the fridge, was a fantastic touch. I would stay at this house over and over!!!! A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. It was built in 1875, so don't expect it to look like it was built yesterday. Enjoy the aesthetics of a time-period house!!!! Oh, & my mom loved the record player - we got a video of her singing & dancing to the oldies!

Short stay

The property was nice, pleasant and updated. The property next store was in pretty bad shape. I would suggest putting a blind or curtain on the dining room window. This window is directly across from the neighbors window and faces directly in to the downstairs bedroom off the dining room. Would help with added privacy.

We had a short stay in St. Charles to visit family that live in the greater St. Louis area. The house was charming, clean and quiet. We wish the weather was better to enjoyed the outdoor seating and play area.

St Charles get away

Loved the updated historic home. The location was great and easy to find. All of the beds were comfy and plenty of linens were available. The kitchen was my fave and the little extras provided by the hosts were very appreciated. The temps were a bit cool to enjoy the back patio, but it looked very inviting. I would recommend this property to anyone looking to visit St. Charles.

Historic center - comfortable home

We stayed for a couple of days in this beautiful historic home. The interior is artistically done with the old charm. Our stay was very comfortable. The hosts were very quick to answer our questions and respond to our requests. They even have a working gramophone with classical records.

Charming Home

Here’s the updated review:Our stay at the St. Charles historical home was wonderful! We stayed for two and a half weeks with my family while recovering from a major surgery. The home was really cute and modern, and the neighborhood was beautiful. We arrived just after Winter Storm Blair hit, so we there was snow everywhere. The home is 100 years old so it was difficult for the cute house to stay consistently warm due to the major storm. We did our best to bundle up and thankfully the house has comfy throws and pillows. Melissa and Jamie were incredibly kind and helpful, even mailing us our forgotten Bible. Highly recommend!

Comfortable and well-located

We had a very nice stay in this well-located house. The living area is comfortable and includes an ample dining table. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, with plenty of counters. Bedrooms were also comfortable. This was one of the nicer houses we’ve rented in St. Charles, and we’ll hope to stay in it again.

Another Great Stay in St. Charles

My family and I just stayed for the second time in the last nine months at this charming 3 bedroom home in St. Charles. The owners have really outdone themselves with providing a welcoming, comfortable home. The location is great, and the outdoor spaces are lovely. We are feeling like this is our home away from home, and will definitely consider booking again when we are in the area.

Super cute house!

Wow! What an amazing weekend we had in St. Charles! This cute house has the perfect location! It’s close to the St. Charles historic district and close to the highway making visiting downtown St. Louis easy! The home itself is a super clean (and I am very picky!!!), quaint house with a fabulous kitchen and fantastic little touches everywhere you look! The owners have thought of absolutely everything to make your stay as relaxing as possible!! We will definitely be back!! Thank you MJ Homes for a wonderful weekend!

fabulous!!

what a great place!! everything was just lovely. the location was close to most everything we did. went in for a concert & was about five miles from amphitheater. great food close. sat on front porch with coffee and rocked while greeting walkers, puppies & neighbors. couldn’t have been more fabulous!! would return without hesitation!!

It was just like the pictures. The toys were nice to have for the kids and it was super close to the event we had to attend. The treats left were nice. The only thing I would mention is that the slide on the playground goes right into the rocks, but that’s not a deal breaker.

2 couples enjoying a short Eclispe trip.House was cute.It was very clean and had all info available.Two complaints that I have are getting up and down steps out the back door.A pull-up bar might help with this.Also,lots of tripping hazards with the rug in the living room,needs to be anchored.We had a great trip.The neighbor who has all of the flowers,was so nice and informative.Will come back to visit St,Charles...
