Zwei Schlafzimmer, offenes, helles modernes Haus mit herrlichem Blick auf Coral Harbour. Romantisches Design mit Deck aus dem Schlafzimmer und Blick auf Bordeaux Mountain vom Bett. Die abgeschiedene Lage am Johnny Horn Trail, neben dem Nationalpark und oberhalb der historischen Moravian Church, bietet Nähe zu allen der besten St. John. Wandern Sie 1 Meile in eine Richtung zum Waterlemon Beach, berühmt für Schnorcheln und Meeresschildkröten, oder fahren Sie bergab in die malerische Stadt Coral Bay zum Frühstück im Pickles Deli oder einem Cheeseburger in Skinny Legs. Joggen Sie durch den Nationalpark zur Maho Bay oder steigen Sie in Ihren Allradantrieb ein (ein Muss!) für einen 5-Meilen-Ausflug zu Wassersport in Cinnamon Bay.

Das Haus ist eine perfekte, private Flucht für ein Paar oder mehr mit 2 offenen Schlafzimmern, jedes mit einem Queen-Bett. Es gibt ein Doppel-Futon im Wohnbereich auch. Familienfreundlich - ideal für Jugendliche, die auf eigene Faust wandern oder zum Frühstück gehen möchten.

Das großzügige Deck ist teilweise überdacht, mit Deckenventilatoren, einem riesigen Sofagarnitur, Partylichtern, Hängematte, Gasgrill zum Faulenzen und Essen, Sonnen und Sternblick.

Um eine Verbindung mit der Karibik zu schaffen, gibt es eine tropische Dusche im Freien und schöne Holzböden, die sich unter bloßen Füßen gut anfühlen.

Keine Notwendigkeit, viel zu bringen: Das Haus ist bestückt und bereit mit Strandkörben und Handtücher, schöne Bettwäsche, Picknick Tupperware, Kühler und eine Yoga-Matte. Haken Sie Ihren iPod in die Stereoanlage und zünden Sie den Mixer an. Bio-Baumschule in der Nähe, um Grün, Tomaten und Paprika zu kaufen.

Eco House

This was our second time staying at the Eco house. We love it so much. The house is beautiful and clean and spacious and airy in wonderful location. It has a huge deck where you can just sit and see the water and trees and listen to the birds. The owner of the house and property manager are so kind and helpful. Can’t wait to go back next year.

Quiet retreat.

Nice property. Very quiet and peaceful. The road up to the house 100% requires a jeep or equivalent but is manageable. No AC which is typical but many ceiling fans cools it down at night. If you are the kind of traveler that enjoys a slightly remote experience vs being in town, great option!

JEEP off road trail - not a gravel driveway

Stayed at this secluded, open air, home during spring break. Enjoyed the outdoor shower, beautiful view of the bay, and open air feel of the home. House could use more kitchen amenities. There is no oven, or BBQ utensils. Bring your own snorkeling equipment or rent somewhere else. Our biggest challenge was the drive to the house. We arrived at night and the directions said to turn at the church with no roof, well it doesn't look like a church and you can't see the roof at night. But we headed up the road anyway. Now I grew up on a farm, on a gravel road with a gravel driveway. This is not gravel like the midwest - this is an off road trail with large rocks, washed out holes, and deep water culverts. It is a 1/2 mile drive on this path. Thank goodness I did not get the 4WD Toyota RAV they tried to rent me. No way that would get up with trail. This daily off road adventure was a deterrent for leaving and returning to the house. Trail leading up to the house only reason I would not stay again.

Worth the road

What a lovely, perfect place for our family to stay! We love Coral Bay and this house afforded us close proximity to all of our favorite spots. The road up is unpaved and definitely for a skilled, brave driver, but boy is it worth it. The house is spacious and clean with a beautiful view. We loved the outside shower and being surrounded by nature. Sarah was a very attentive host in booking and we knew she would be there if we needed anything during our stay.

Sarah and Family, thank you for sharing your magical home with our family. Coming from the hustle of NYC, it was a relief. As I mentioned— if only VRBO allowed photos, you could see the pain and sadness in my 8-year-old as we said goodbye to your storybook place. The charm of it all-from Roger, and his sweet wife, Rosie, to the rainwater collection, the outdoor shower, and every thoughtful detail! It’s remote, so you’ll need a 4x4 to get there, but the drive is anything but scary. The short ride is worth it!

Beautiful views!

The house was cute with everything we needed except food, drinking water and clothes. Sarah was very responsive to our requests and was a wonderful hostess!!! Beware though. When they say you need a 4 wheel drive to get there- there is a reason. It is a steep, bumpy, rocky road to the house. But the view from the front porch is amazing!!!

Magical week

We had such an amazing week!! The house very comfortably fit myself, my husband and our 12 and 14-year-old children. The house is lovely and serene, it so clean with wonderful views of Coral Bay. It’s so peaceful. We love seeing the hummingbirds and sitting on the gorgeous deck. We loved the outdoor shower. Sarah, the host was so accommodating, so helpful and attentive! She was full of great information about St. John if we had any questions about activities or places to eat. We will definitely be coming back!!

Amazing deck view

Coral Bay was our laid back and relaxed choice. The house was perfect! Once you get up the road, the views and wild birds are your reward. We absolutely loved the covered deck and enjoyed hanging there at night after our full day and in the morning with coffee. Sarah was by quick to respond and super helpful with any questions we had regarding St. John or the house.

Relaxing and adventurous

Getting to the property was an adventure, but the reward is a beautiful view and relaxing island breeze. The house has everything you need and nothing more. Be sure to stock up on provisions, including drinking water. We did not realize that there is no drinking water available onsite. Occasionally we could hear the neighbors, but mostly we heard the sound of nature.

A dream location

Our family of 3 loved our stay at the Johnny Horn Trail cottage. The house had everything we needed for our 6 days in St John. The view from the main bedroom each morning was sublime. We were able to cook multiple meals in the kitchen during our stay. The extra touches like having a cooler, snorkel gear, beach chairs, and the key lime pie were all perfect. The outdoor shower was fantastic. The house served as the perfect place for us while we traveled all over the island each day snorkeling and exploring. We enjoyed multiple meals down the mountain at Skinny Legs. The owner was so responsive to all my questions. The only thing I'd like to note for future visitors is that while multiple people have noted that a four wheel drive is absolutely necessary, I'd like to add that a four wheel drive with clearance is best. We booked maybe two months before our visit and had trouble finding an affordable Jeep Wrangler. But we did find a 4WD Jeep Compass. While we were able to make it up and down the mountain we had to do so very very carefully as there are multiple points where the vehicle has to dip down into a small culvert across the road. It made for a much more stressful drive and we found ourselves limiting to just one trip up and down the road per day- staying out for 10 plus hours some days. Also make sure your rental has strong tires. Ours had a tire or two that were worn and that's not a great combination with the gravel and grade of this road.

Wonderful Johnny Horn Stay

We loved our stay on the Johnny Horn Trail! The outdoor shower and view are better than advertised & the host couldn’t have been more wonderful. Would highly recommend and stay again on our next visit. The trek up the trail isn’t as steep as it sounds depending on what you’re used to, but AWD/4WD is a must. The Jeep and Subaru forester handled it fine but the rental agency gave us a 2WD Pathfinder on Day 1 & it never stood a chance.

Away from it

Property was absolutely as represented. By our fourth day we had mastered the intimidating drive up to the house. We had five in our group- house would be perfect for 4. Loved the outside shower and spent a lot of time relaxing on the deck. Great hike over to Watermelon and close access to the restaurants (including Skinny Legs) in Coral Bay. Magical Tree House

Our stay was so great! The house was better than I imagined. The view from the covered porch was magical and the outdoor shower was heaven. The hummingbirds were a constant source of entertainment. I would definitely stay here again. The host was very easy to communicate with and there was even a homemade key lime pie in the freezer for us! It was delicious.

Beautiful View off the beaten path in Coral Bay

Our family (2 kids ages 10 and 12) stayed in Coral Bay for 4 nights in July and had a blast. The house is in a remote location up a very steep, rocky road, so you have lots of privacy and an amazing view. The road is no joke - you definitely need 4WD. The kids enjoyed the hammock on the deck and we all loved the outdoor shower. Down the hill nearby there’s easy access to Skinny Legs, a couple other restaurants, and a small market Love City. The house has plenty of space and is very clean.

This was our second time staying at Johnny Horn Trail and it was perfection as usual! The house itself is great and the views of Coral Bay are breathtaking! My family loves the open air concept and the outdoor shower is always a hit! The owner Sarah was amazing to work with! Amazing eco house

Johnny horn eco house is a must to stay at on St. John. So much nature to see Lizards in the tree top multiple species of birds deer and donkeys. The location is perfect to go to any beach or hiking trail.

We had a lovely stay at the Eco House! The property is as described/pictured and has *everything* you need for a stay that is perfectly comfortable, but yet a little bit off-grid and more adventurous. We loved the shower! We were worried about hot water with 5 of us showering after returning from beach days, but not an issue! The hummingbirds were fun to feed and we loved the open air, the view, the chatty birds, and the white outdoor lights at night. The road (...trail really) leading up to the house is no joke!!! Thankful we had a Jeep and read the reviews on it. It's a great little house!
