A few points to note:
1. I did not receive the promised confirmation e-mail from the university.
2. They do not answer the only phone number provided by Expedia. (I was told, onsite, that this only gets answered if/when someone is at the desk). Nor do they respond when you leave a voice message on this number.
3. I had to find out (for myself) that there's a department at the main university (in Colchester) that runs this accommodation - and they did send me an e-mail confirmation. This stated that the front desk was manned until 5pm - but it's not! The staff leave at 3pm!!
4. Two security people (thankfully) were at the desk, and they could not have been more helpful. The male guard even offered to help with my luggage as he showed me to my room. 5-star service from him!
5. The room was like an ice-box (in the current cold weather) as the in-room heater had not been switched on. This eventually took the chill off… but the people running this place should be doing a much better job all-round.
