Gut: Sauberkeit
The house and grounds are gorgeous, and Diego was responsive. It is perfect for a friends getaway weekend. The kitchen is large and mostly well stocked (odd there is no mixing bowls or mixers though), and the space is great for relaxing and hanging out after full days of wine tasting. Bedrooms are all spacious and bathrooms nice and functional. All rooms have blackout curtains. Property is centrally located to Sonoma and Napa, so easy to access both. Hot tub was lovely. There were two issues during our stay, both somewhat out of the host’s control: (1) WiFi was down for the entire day when we arrived, and the heat is controlled by the WiFi, so the entire house was freezing when we arrived and took several hours to warm up, and (2) there was a skunk smell that permeated the house for the length of the stay (and the last night got very intense), likely due to woodland creatures loving the property as much as we did (but it can be hard to fully appreciate everything when all you smell is skunk). Also, the beds (we were thrilled to have 3 king beds!) were all shorter than standard beds (a few of us are tall and our feet were hanging off the edges) — not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but kind of odd and helpful to know if you’ve got a tall party. They have a no-shoes policy in the house and one of the bedrooms is accessible only by going out thru the deck, so don’t forget slippers. Diego was kind and responsive and it was overall a good stay.
