We paid a premium price for this home—far more than many comparable oceanfront rentals—and it was, without question, the most disappointing vacation rental we’ve ever experienced. Before arriving, we called about previous reviews mentioning HVAC issues and were assured everything had been resolved and that a 24/7 maintenance team was available. On the day of check-in, however, we were notified the stove didn’t work. We were then told the appropriate technician wouldn’t be available for two days. The “solution” was a filthy 17-inch charcoal grill with burnt foil still inside. We ended up buying our own grill. When a technician finally arrived, he determined within minutes that the stove needed to be replaced. We repeatedly had to call for updates because no one contacted us. We were told no stoves were available, yet after we pointed out Lowe’s had plenty in stock, one was installed that same day.The problems didn’t stop there. The home was dirty upon arrival, beds weren’t made, linens were thrown in the rooms, and trash and debris were throughout the house. We had to complain multiple times before anyone attempted to clean it.Other issues included water leaking through the dining room ceiling, rain coming through windows, water dripping from a kitchen electrical outlet, broken bathroom tile, loose fixtures, non-working outlets, deteriorating decks, and a loose staircase. We were promised a partial refund, yet as of this review we’ve received neither a refund nor follow up.
