„Stayed for two nights in July. a lovely well run hotel which complies with European standards. The price includes both breakfast and an evening meal. The rooms come with gas heaters and there is a fire place in the diningroom. The owners are very friendly. The hotel is perhaps more suited to those who are interested in mountaineering or trecking and Bruno, the owner, organises tours. The hotel is accessed up a winding dirt track so a four wheel drive is advantageous. Could be better signposted. ...

„The Abuelo is a jewel of a hotel in the Callejón! Modern, clean and an amazing proprietor. All are helpful and eager to please. Located in the middle of Carhuaz, they can quickly get you the best guides and transport. The cook is fantastic; it thus is the best restaurant in town and one of the best in the Callejón. We travel a lot, are very fluent in Spanish and would rank it among the nicest rural hotels in Latin America!“
