Convenient

We enjoyed the spacious house. Very near the center of Orcutt with its quaint shops. Easy to drive to nearby towns too.

Double booked and VRBO and Property Manager disappeared.

The property was double booked and VRBO and Property Manager disappeared. The Property Manager was rude. She offered to change my property booking and instead offered us rooms in a local "Town and Country Inn" and till date has not apologized. My test message exchange with the property manager demonstrates her lack of empathy.. Me - It's Sam. We're checking in in about 30 min. If we could have the code for the house that would be great. Manager - xxxx (the code) Me after an hour - Manager u seem to have double booked the house. Pls call back as soon possible. Me again after 10 mins - Manager pls call back Me again after 10 mins - I keep hitting your voice mail Me again after 10 mins - Can u pls text the address so we can start driving? Some of us want to use the rest rooms too. after this we spent 2 in back and forth calls along with VRBO Manager finds me an alternative and after reaching there says dogs are not allowed so we can use the property. Texting starts again Manager to me - I have a hotel as well with 6 bedrooms . Town & country inn - 2250 south Broadway. But it may not work out and if it doesn't, the hotel owner has six bedrooms reserved for you. The hotel is holding the six rooms for a half hour, so if you are needing lodging, that's the best I could do. I am returning the money from VRBO. Me to Manager - we will not be using your hotel rooms. Ur customer service sucks and so does your attitude Manager to me - I'm sorry you feel that way. Please count your blessings and give thanks that your family is all intact and try to enjoy them over the holidays regardless of the situation. Me to Manager - Last thing I want is advice from you on enjoying the holidays after u ruined them. Manager to me - Be grateful your family has the ability to have the means for a vacation to go wrong. Many people do not. I tried to think of how I would react in the same situation but it did happen to me and my family in London England and it took several hours for the site to "not" find us lodging. It was New Year's Eve and we were freezing. I was thankful my family was safe and healthy. I found you lodging that I was covering and returned all funds from the computer glitch I had no control over. I hope you will find a way to be thankful your family is in tact as well during these trying times.

The house was clean and a safe environment. It is not a "5 Star" place nor was it represented as such. In our case we were looking for a place to sleep 15 people as part of a family reunion and not much more. It very much accommodated that need. We would recommend the farm house to aanyone with similar needs. We sensed the manager would have been very responsive, but we had no need to contact her. Would stay there again.

Family staying there for dad's funeral

Host forgot to inform the cleaning service that we were staying at the property 3-5 October, so we could not get into the VRBO until after 6:30pm. The head cleaning lady showed me her schedule indicating that the next reservation she had on her calendar was on 8 October. Overall, this is a comfortable VRBO able to sleep up to 20 people. We had 10 adults and 4 kids. Because the cleaning was conducted rather quickly - the counters and floors were not as clean as what we think they should have been. Additionally, dishes had to be re-washed before being used due to food stuff still on plates. Some issues to consider fixing: - some of the floor strips going from room to room are lose and people trip on them. - the rug on the stairs - at the top of the stairs there were some tacks or nails not hammered in all of the way - some people in bare feet stepped on them and it was quite painful. - the first room on the left with two beds - there was a pillow behind the headboard that had dried blood all over the pillow case. - There were many ironing boards and only one iron. Perhaps providing another iron would be good.

Family Vacation

We had around 12 adults and 4 kids here. Sleeping arrangements worked great. It was nice to cook meals instead of going out to eat for every meal. We enjoyed family time in the living room with TV off. Also love that we were able to do laundry and not bring home dirty clothes. Save me the hassle of cleaning them when we returned. The manager of the house was always available when I needed her throughout the whole process. She was easy to talk with and got things done in a timely manner. Would for sure stay here again.

Take pictures of the property when you arrive and when you leave. The property manager was good,

We had difficulty with maintenance man giving owner inaccurate information. We were charged for more than 20 guests which wasn’t true. Cleaning staff reported that we thrashed the place. Not true, stated that we were filthy. A few crumbs were on the floor and pictures of a dirty microwave were shown. Were were accused of breaking an antique mirror when actually the glue didn’t hold. Mirror not broken. Scratches ( purposely) on upstairs dining table. A couple of aluminum pans were placed there and possibly left a few marks, I think furniture polish could remove. Accused initially of having someone on top of roof and damaging a tv in connection with antenna. The place was nice location and spacious, landscaping recommended. I have lived in this area for over 50 years and some of my relatives are former residents. Be aware of maintenance man that lives on property next door, and cleaning crew report (take pictures when you arrive and depart). To read a message that states we thrashed the place and were filthy is insulting. We actually left two vases of flowers for the next guests. Previous guests seem to have had trouble with the tv as well. Will not recommend staying there.

Fixer Upper Ranch Style Home

150 Points to the property manager, Donnelle. This is a fixer upper property and it looks like the owner refuses to get any work done. The dishes, pot and pans are so old that I could not use. We had to wash all the glasses and most of the dishes. The kitchen cabinets are sticky. I had to push some chairs away to the laundry room so that I did not have to see the dirt on them. I've stayed at many VRBO's and this was the worst experience interms of how the property is. Old sheets and smelly comforters. I usually travel with my sheets but for this one, we decided not to which was a mistake. The property brought us her own plates and wine glasses. If I don't have crack dishes at my house, I don't want to use them at a property that I am vacationing at. Location is great, not much to do in Orcutt but we went hiking everyday and walked to downtown to get coffee/pastries at a local bakery. We were hardly at the property, I just could not be there but Solvang, Lompoc is a short drive out. We checked out a couple of wineries in the vicinity. The living room furniture is old and the sofa is low that once you sit down, you cannot get up. Original carpets that have not been cleaned.

Big clean house for all ages

Though there isn’t much to do in Orcutt but it is close to many wineries and other places such as Lopez Lake, Morobay, Pismo Beach, we are very glad to stay here with 10 people, but the house can accommodate something like 15 to 17 people, with the couch, 2 extra double beds in a closet, and one more double bed in a bonus room hidden in a bed room; 2 kitchens in separate upstairs and downstairs, make us to regroup easily to sit different areas and chat after dinner. The check out process is easy too. We definitely and strongly will recommend to friends.

Orcut Farm House

Clean and comfortable. We were a party of 18. Dishes, glasses, pots and pans were not enough or really old. Couldn't change the channel on the TV. Called property manager and she informed to tell the maintenance man living next door. But he wasn't home, so we ended up going to a sports bar to watch football.

Short but sweet

Ease of entrance at check in was very quick and simple. House was hot when we first entered but we opened up the windows and it cooled off quickly and nicely. It is not the Marriott or the Hilton but we definitely enjoyed our stay. It has a "country" feel to it and the house is very vintage looking. We did not spend lots of time there as our trip was mainly for a family reunion. However, it was quiet and peaceful. Plenty of off street parking space. There were 15 of us that stayed there and it was a comfortable stay - plenty of room! I would definitely stay there again especially with as a big of group that we had. Thank you!

Wedding and reunion

The house was perfect for our purpose, a reunion. We had 12 adults and everyone had their own room. That was fantastic. Orchutt is a very nice town and an easy walk from the house. The manager was very accommodating.

Wonderful Weekend Wondehouse

We rented this house on an exceptionally hot weekend and were able to open the back door and the back yard windows and a wonderful breeze blew through the entire house and called it down. We had about 50 guests arrive to a party that we hosted there and everybody was able to fit in the living Room comfortably and in the back yard as well, there was plenty of space for everyone! The bed linens were freshly cleaned as was the entire house. The AC was even on when we arrived. If I could I would give this manager a rating of 10 out of 5 stars because her service was stellar! I even forgot some items at the house and she let me return later to retrieve my lost items. She also let us use her chairs and tables for our party set up. Overall our stay and our party was comfortable, relaxing and nostalgic. You can't help but wonder whose lives lived in that house before and the day to day activities that happened within those walls. It's like a step back into time when you walk in there! I would highly recommend this house as well as any house that the manager manages. Donnell rocks!

Great place!

We were very comfortable and there were 7 children and 7 adults. We went to Pismo Beach, Cal Poly (one of our group was an alumni), SLO, Morrow Bay, and Hearst Castle. Great area for a vacation. House has a wonderful back yard and gazebo. Plenty of parking.

good fun for all

Lots of space for 9 adults and two big teenagers. Although house was very hot when we arrived as southern Cal was having a heat wave the day we arrived. But there are so many windows that within 30 minutes of arriving and opening them the house was comfortable. I would have given the house 5 stars but it was not stocked at all with any condiments. This is the tenth year the family has rented a house and in the beginning we brought everything with us but nearly all of them were stocked with basic spices, etc. So we were surprised that there was nothing in the kitchen. There was not even a bit of salt in the house anywhere. Just unusual. but store close by so not a big problem. There was so much to do in the area that we could have stayed a week. Donnelle was good to work with.

This was an awesome house for our big family. It made it easy to be together and enjoy one another.

The fenced backyard was perfect for the kids to run and play. Grandpa watched them from the gazebo. The kitchen worked great for cooking most of our meals. Loved the big dining room table. Plenty of good bedroom space and areas to sit and visit. We loved walking to Old Orcutt to Doc Bernstein's ice cream Lab. The Orcutt Market was fun. It was close to beaches and we even went to Moro Bay. The climate was perfect as we came from over 100 degree weather. A great old house with charm in a quiet setting.

The Perfect Property

This property was absolutely perfect for our needs. It allowed everyone from out of town to stay together and make the best of a sad situation. The home was clean, roomy, centrally located and walking distance to dinners etc. Donnelle was a wonderful host and made sure everything was perfect. No one felt pressured and this property made us all feel at home and gave us the comfort to deal with all the things that the week had in store. The upstairs office space allowed those that still had to check in to the office to do so in privacy while the other family gathered downstairs. Thank you for welcoming my family to your property and we will definately use your service again.

Perfect location and space for us!

Amazing stay in a historic farmhouse

Our extended family came together for a family event and we all stayed together in this fantastic, well-equipped farmhouse. It easily accommodated our group and the owner/manager were amazing to work with (great communication, very responsive, etc). Also, the location is super - easy walk into Old Orcutt with its great restaurants and bars. It is also near a fabulous walking/running trail. Definitely recommend this property and the owner/manager.
