Captain’s Deck Seafront Balcony Apartment is on the seafront and is in the perfect location for families, couples, and groups of all ages, and their dogs, to enjoy everything that Saltburn has to offer.

The beach path is a few steps away from your holiday home on the other side of the upper promenade (called Marine Parade) and takes you to the lower promenade and beach. To the left, there is 7.5 miles of safe, clean sand and sea that is dog friendly all year round. To the right, the lower promenade and beach lead to Saltburn’s seafront attractions

The Marine seafront bar is also a few steps away from your holiday home, and offers outside seating and live sports on its large TV screens.

The welcoming town centre is only 200 meters from your holiday home. There’s a large Sainsbury Supermarket for your convenience, and there’s a host of shops, restaurants, cafes, take aways and bars.

You are welcome to order food deliveries to your holiday home.

There’s plenty of free on-street parking on the seafront and on the town’s streets. Normally, you’s be able to park outside, or close to your holiday home. During very busy holiday periods you may need to park a short walk away from your home if you arrive after 10am or before 4pm.

Whilst in Saltburn, take the oldest functioning cliff lift in the UK down to the promenade and you’ll arrive at the 208-metre pier which stretches out into the sea. Opened in 1869, Saltburn’s Victorian pier is the last remaining entertainment pedestrian pier in Yorkshire. A walk along the pier is a wonderful experience as you’ll have great views out to sea, and back towards the town’s upper promenade.The promenade has numerous shops, takeaways, cafes, restaurants, and the Pier’s amusement arcade for the kids. The long sandy shores are overlooked by colourful boutique beach huts and high cliffs tower in the distance.

Saltburn is a great location for those that love to get in the sea. Swimming between the RNLI markers is highly recommended when the waves are calm. The beach and seafront is renowned as the best boogie boarding and surfing spot in the North of England. We provide boogie boards if you fancy having a go, but if you are bringing your own boards you can leave them securely on the terrace to the front of the property or in the yard at the rear.

For cyclists, again Saltburn is a perfect holiday destination. You can store your bikes securely on the terrace to the front of the property or in the yard at the rear.

For walkers, or for those looking for great views and memorable photos, The Valley Gardens are a maze of paths and tracks which wind through the flowers and woodland. If you want to explore further, Saltburn is the first coastal leg of the Cleveland way. The trail starts at the end of the promenade in Saltburn and crosses the Skelton Beck via the road bridge and then begins a steady climb uphill along the edge of the cliff. It squeezes between the cliff edge and a freight railway line before starting an easy descent into Skinningrove. It’s a great walk for guests to sample the trail.

Saltburn has plenty of beautiful walks too. The Cleveland Way National Trail is over 100 miles long and the lovely Saltburn is featured. If you fancy a 17.5 mile jaunt, start at Saltburn and walk your way to Sandsend. This walk is a great way to explore the North Yorkshire coastline and the views are beautiful!

Saltburn Valley Gardens are a maze of pleasant paths and tracks with seats at frequent intervals. Refreshments, a Woodland Centre, children’s play areas and a miniature railway can all be enjoyed – all set in a mix of formal gardens and ‘wild’ woodland. In days gone by these thick, wild woodlands were an ideal haven for smuggled goods arriving off the Saltburn coast; indeed, it is said that a tunnel still links The Ship Inn with the inland valley.

For golfers, Saltburn is an excellent location. Saltburn by the sea Golf Club is a great golf course with wonderful views of the coast and inland towards Roseberry Topping. Seaton Carew Golf Club is the 10th oldest club in England and offers an excellent links challenge. Cleveland Golf Club was established in 1887 and claims to be the only true Championship links, and the Oldest Course in the County of Yorkshire. Each of these courses has a welcoming club house, with inviting staff and club members.

There are many towns and villages to explore close to Saltburn. Staithes is a lovely coastal village with where you can explore the streets, visit the Captain Cook & Staithes Heritage Centre and have lunch at The Cod and Lobster near the harbour. Whitby’s Old Town is a bustling day out for you to enjoy the atmospheric cobbled streets, climb the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey, and enjoy fish and chips at the famous Magpie Café. Great Ayton’s green and river front offer a much quieter day out, with a visit to Captain Cook Schoolroom Museum, and a walk to the summit of Roseberry Topping and sustenance at the wonderful Kings Head Inn at Newton under Roseberry. Sandsend has a lovely stretch of beach and has coffee shops and a nice pub.
