„Arrived at the property and called to check in. Was told that property was closed for refurbishment and I had to go to a different property managed by them 15 minutes away. Got there and room was minimal and bare. Host was nice but it wasn’t an aparthotel as the original one was advertised as. I left and booked a night at a local Travelodge instead. “

„We loved it here, had a a good couple of nights with friends. Beautiful apartment, amazing mattresses and pillows, very quiet environment. The pool wasn’t open and some work was happening but you can tell it’s going to look amazing once they put it all together and summer prep work is expected at this time of year. Kara was fab and we met a super helpful housekeeper who is doing a degree who was a literal walking tourist information centre. Great atmosphere all round .“

„Great apartment just 5 mins walk to the pier with all of its attractions. Apartment had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. If I was going to Clacton again I would have no hesitation in staying here. “

„We stayed 7 days, and I swam 6 of those days. The other day we rode our bikes almost to Reculver Bay and so had no energy for a swim! Beach Retreat is the most beautiful chalet and we loved every minute, especially the twice daily visit from the sea as it tapped the bottom of the gorgeous wild sea garden. „The owner phoned not long after we checked in to make sure we had got into the property okay and to see if we had any queries. I appreciated the contact and he had also left fruit, as well as bottled water, spreads and cheese in the fridge. The apartment is comfortable with a great bathroom and good kitchen facilities. "A small, cozy hotel with a lake, although you couldn't swim in it. Despite the highway, the hotel was quiet. With the window closed you couldn't hear anything, with the window open only noise (lake side). The building and the furnishings were a bit older, which was also partly visible. But it didn't look run-down. A renovation would do the hotel some good. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. The cleanliness left something to be desired in some places. I never felt unsafe there, there was plenty of parking and the food was also good."

"Das Zimmer war an sich sehr gut. Sauber und groß, auch das Badezimmer, und das WLAN war schnell. Aber man muss taub sein, um da schlafen zu können. Es war sehr laut. Die Wände waren wohl dünner als die Papierwände in einem japanischen Haus. Ich konnte meine Nachbarn besser hören als mich selbst, obwohl sie sich eigentlich nur normal unterhielten.
