  • A-frame cabin features 1,200 square feet of cozy living space. You'll feel miles away In the Black Hills National forest all tucked away in the woods and hidden by towering pine trees.
    The cabin is centrally located in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and is a perfect lodging location while visiting Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, Devil's Tower National Monument, Hill City 1880 Steam Train, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Historic Deadwood and Rapid Creek fly fishing for browns and rainbows located just below Pactola Reservoir. The cabin is located among the pine trees on Edelweiss Mountain (5800 ft elevation) just twelve miles north of Hill City South Dakota and four switchback country miles off of the Scenic drive of U.S. Highway 385. The cabin is located within minutes of Pactola Lake, the Mickelson Trail, and the Centennial Trail. Situated in a quiet wooded area, the picturesque property is surrounded by acres of pine trees, offering ultimate peace and relaxation.

    Approximately 22 miles west of Rapid City, SD. (Airport 14 miles east of Rapid City)
    Please note: Three switchback country miles off of U.S. Highway 385 to cabin location.
    There is ample parking for vehicles and trailers, so bring your ATV's or rent from one of the many local vendors in Hill City. There are endless ATV/UTV trails right off the property!
    Winter access requires AWD or 4WD vehicle

We were a group of 10, so we had tighter quarters than we had expected. It is a two bedroom with open loft sleeping area. The lighting needs upgraded in every area. We could not keep the light above the dining room table on long enough to play a game. Very disappointed grandkids!! It is at least a 20 minute drive up the mountain on gravel to get to the cabin. Yes, you are in the hills but you don’t see the mountains. We enjoyed the Black Hills and made the cabin work but disappointed all the same. Read all the reviews before booking- I didn’t and learned the hard way.

Black Hills Cabin

Great cabin. Very quiet, clean and convenient to Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore and Deadwood snowmobile trails. This was an amazing cabin in a great location with easy access to all the Black Hills National Forest must-see sites. The cabin was clean and well supplied with plenty of space for our group of 6. Great host with a great response time. Thank you for our stay!

Very nice out of the way cabin

We very much enjoyed staying here. It is a bit out of the way, but the roads are well maintained. If you want your vacation to include some quiet relaxation this is a great choice. If you like being in the middle of the action maybe not. The cabin is rustic enough to feel like a cabin but modern enough to be comfortable.

Great cabin!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Deck was perfect for enjoying quiet evenings while grilling as well as morning coffee. Cabin was clean and well stocked with everything we needed - we only had to bring our groceries. We had a question about the internet and the owner responded within minutes.

“Highly recommend this lovely cabin! It was spotless, well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds were extremely comfortable. Excellent communication from the owner- very clear and easy check-in and check-out information. Peace and comfort

Our family of adults and teens all enjoyed this peaceful and comfortable cabin. The beds are comfortable, and the space was cozy and great for conversation while allowing room for everyone to spread out. We spent a lot of time on the deck and in our hammocks just outside. It’s close to both Pactola and Sheridan lakes, so our fishermen stayed busy. Everything about our stay went smoothly and we would easily go again.
