Küsten-Ferienhaus in Nordwales | Pensarn

  • If you're looking to get as close to the ocean as possible without actually living on a boat, Pensarn is about as good as it gets. This premier coastal holiday cottage in North Wales sits in a commanding position right at the end of the Pen Llŷn (Llŷn Peninsula), where the road finally runs out and the adventure begins. The main event here is undoubtedly the location; you are just a short, breezy stroll from the shoreline, making it entirely possible to go from your morning coffee to a sea swim in a matter of minutes.

The cottage itself is a delightful maze of character, featuring a quirky layout that flows across different levels. Your tour starts on the ground floor in the well-appointed kitchen and dining area. It is fully stocked with everything from an air fryer to a slow cooker, ensuring that even at the edge of the world, you aren't short of home comforts. Moving through the property, you'll find not one, but two living areas. The central lounge is the heart of the home, while the secondary snug - complete with an electric log-burner effect heater - is the perfect spot to retreat. Conveniently located just off this snug is a practical ground-floor wet room, accessed via two internal steps. It features a walk-in shower and a heated towel rail, making it the ideal spot to freshen up and rinse off the salt after a day on the beach.

The "different levels" theme continues as you head upstairs. You'll find a south-facing single bedroom that offers a bright coastal feel and a tempting glimpse of the sea. The main double bedroom is located at the rear, offering a quiet, darker sanctuary for those who intend to sleep until noon. Between the bedrooms lies the main family bathroom, a fresh and simple space fitted with a full-sized bath and an overhead shower, perfect for a long soak after a day exploring the cliffs.

While there is a compact roof terrace for a quick breath of sea air, the real magic of this coastal holiday cottage in North Wales is the view from the windows. Looking out over the rooftops of Aberdaron, you can watch the tide pull away from the beach and keep an eye on the village's famous boat slipway. It is a property that perfectly captures the spirit of life at the very tip of Wales.

Cafetière, 2L air fryer, slow cooker, handheld blender.
Electric oil radiators throughout the property.

    Parking Information - Street Parking:
From October to March, parking is usually permitted on the roadside near the cottage.
From spring onwards, sections of the road operate single yellow line restrictions.

A neighbour has kindly made a dedicated guest parking space available nearby for one car.

The most reliable parking option is the National Trust Aberdaron Beach Car Park, located a short walk from the cottage:
    • Suitable for longer stays
    • Electric vehicle charging point available
    • Pay & display (free for National Trust members)

    Luggage Drop-Off:
Guests are welcome to stop briefly outside the cottage gate to unload luggage, where safe to do so.
The lane is narrow and shared with pedestrians and residents, so we kindly ask you to unload efficiently and move your vehicle afterwards.

    CCTV:
Ring door bell at the kitchen door.

Please note that mobile signal can be limited inside the property, which is fairly common in this part of the Llŷn Peninsula.

Pensarn is a traditional coastal property set on a hillside, and guests should be aware that access may be challenging for those with reduced mobility.
The approach to the cottage involves a hill, uneven ground and steps in places.
Within the property, there are steps and changes in level, with stairs required to access most rooms.
For this reason, the cottage may not be suitable for guests with significant mobility difficulties, wheelchair users, or those who may find stairs and gradients challenging.

We’re happy to welcome 1 well-behaved dog. Please keep them supervised at all times and don’t leave them unattended. To keep the space comfy for everyone, we kindly ask that they stay off the furniture and out of the bedrooms. Feel free to bring their favourite bed, blanket, and anything else to make them feel at home. Please make sure to clean up after your dogs.

    BBQ use:
For safety reasons, fire pits, disposable BBQs, charcoal BBQs or open flames must not be used on the wooden decking areas.

    Electric vehicle charging:
Guests are prohibited from charging electric vehicles using property sockets. Violation will result in immediate eviction without a refund.

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the cottage. Please also avoid smoking or vaping in doorways, near open windows, or anywhere it may cause a nuisance or damage the property.

    Respectful Atmosphere Policy:
Our properties are ideal for families, couples, and individuals seeking a peaceful retreat. Please consider whether our tranquil setting suits your plans. This property will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties.
    Thank you for your understanding.

Due to the layout and space of the cottage, we're unable to accommodate infants. No cot or high chair available.
