**Absolutely Horrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs!**
My recent stay at the Royalton Chic in the Dominican Republic ended in a complete nightmare. When I tried to check out, the front desk staff accused me of booking an excursion under my room number – an excursion I *never* booked. They insisted I pay for it and refused to let me check out until it was resolved.
I spent **45 stressful minutes** trying to explain this wasn’t my charge. No one believed me. Finally, by complete luck, the *actual guest* who used my room number for the excursion happened to walk by as she was leaving to go home. Only then did they acknowledge their mistake — **a mistake that could’ve caused me to miss my flight**.
Their response after all this? Just a weak “sorry.”
This is completely unacceptable. If she hadn’t shown up, I would’ve been held at the hotel over *their own error*. I’ve never experienced such incompetence or lack of accountability. I do **not** recommend this hotel to anyone. They do not care about their guests or their time. Be warned.
