Broken and loud

Wow. What a "vacation". Me and my boyfriend wanted to celebrate New Years eve in Prague but we couldn't find any arpatments to book except of this one. Now we know why. When we arrived the first thing we realized was that this flat is in front of a big city crossing with trams going through the street. The balcony door couldn't close properly and the insulation was really bad (we could hear the neighbour's watching TV even with Oropax) so it was very loud. We thought this might be something we could get through but unfortunately this wouldn't stay the only issue. After that I also had to find out that the bed on my side was broken. Two bars were out of alignment and couldn't be put back in place. When we tried to get the heater to work we had to acknowledge that the knob was broken so one of the two heaters wasn't able to work. Due to the fact that the insulation was bad, the balcony door couldn't close(wind and sound was coming through the whole time) and the thin blankets our nights were really cold. When we contacted the host (which changed after our stay) she told us that she hadn't seen the place in a while because she isn't in the country. She sent a "manager" to look after the issues. The manager was working on that day and had to come after his work. We had to be there and show him the issues. Time that we couldn't spend our way. When the manager came with his son (because he couldn't speak English) he told us there is nothing he could do about it. The host later told us that the manager said there weren't any issues (!) and any extra visit would cost us money (!). We made photos and videos of every issue and sent it to the host. When the host told us that she would send us a mechanic and we would have to stay another day in the flat to let the mechanic in we decided to go back home on the second booking day. We couldn't stay there any longer. And these were just the major issues. Things like broken jalousies, broken lamps and friable wall paint were just small issues in comparison. We didn't get back any money but going back to Berlin was the first time we felt like holiday. After all the new (!) host tried to take our bail telling us that everything in there is broken (!!!!). We now contacted homeaway. Everyone who still wants to go there ask me for the photos and videos and then decide if you want to waste your money and time on this.

Völlig ausreichend, aber für die Lage erscheint es dennoch teuer. Vielleicht ist das aber in den letzten Jahren auch so geworden. Wir haben sehr spontan gebucht, daher war der verlangte Preis auch mit der Lage mehr als in Ordnung. Allerdings piept der Kühlschrank sobald man diesen anstellt aller zehn Minuten.

Empfehlenswert mit kleinen Einschränkungen

Bei Ankunft erwartete uns eine vom Vermieter beauftragte Dame, die uns die Schlüssel übergab und uns die Ausstattung des Apartments auf Deutsch erklärte. Mieter sollten sich vor Anreise die genaue Adresse geben und die unterschiedlichen Hausnummern erklären lassen, um schnell ans Ziel zu kommen. Das Haus liegt verkehrsgünstig an einer Hauptstraße, die Wohnung im 3. Obergeschoss und ist mit dem Fahrstuhl erreichbar. Parkmöglichkeiten sind begrenzt. Die nächste Straßenbahnhaltestelle liegt nur ca. 150 m entfernt. Mit der Linie 9 ist man in ca. 30 min im Stadtzentrum. Ebenfalls in nur 200 m Entfernung findet man einen großen Supermarkt (Kaufland) sowie einen kleineren Markt der Kette "Albert". Die Wohnung ist in gutem Zustand, sauber und modern eingerichtet. TV und WLAN sind vorhanden. Das Bad verfügt über kleine Badewanne und Dusche. Im Wohnraum gibt es ein klappbares, bequemes Doppelbett. Die Küche verfügt über Kühlschrank mit großem Gefrierteil, Wasserkocher, Herd, Ceran-Kochfeld, Waschmaschine, Spülmaschine. Die Ausstattung der Küche mit Geschirr etc. ist ausreichend, aber nicht üppig. Es gibt einen sehr kleinen Balkon mit einem kleinen Tisch und zwei Stühlen. Die Wohnung liegt zur Straßenseite. Bei geöffnetem Fenster ist es ziemlich laut. Eine Klimaanlage gibt es nicht, wohl aber einen Deckenventilator über dem Bett. Wir erwischten 3 sehr heiße Tage und waren dankbar für diesen Ventilator. Wir können diese Wohnung sehr empfehlen. Sie liegt zwar nicht sehr zentral und zur Straßenseite, ist aber gut angebunden und hat gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten ganz in der Nähe. Wir hatten vor der Buchung aus Zeitgründen keinen Preisvergleich durchgeführt, sondern uns spontan für dieses Apartment entschieden. Der Preis von insgesamt 80 € pro Nacht bei 3 Nächten Aufenthalt erscheint uns jedoch nicht besonders günstig.

Best kitchen of any property we've stayed in.

Arriving late at night with a driver who didn't speak English (as promised) was adamant that the apartment wasn't there even though we were showing him the number on the building. Then on entering, finding there was building work going on, meant it wasn't the best start. However the condo was bright and welcoming and we weren't disturbed by the work at all. The bed is very comfortable and everywhere was very clean, possibly too much air freshener used? Kitchen was brilliant. didn't use the dishwasher but it was useful to have the washing machine/dryer and somewhere to hang wet clothes. Although we ate out a lot it was good to have the fridge /freezer microwave and oven for the meals we did make There's a small Albert store across the road and a larger Kaufland 5 mins walk away, The double glazing was excellent and kept out the street noise. Location was good, wanted to be away from the city centre and nearby there was a tram terminus where the number 9 took us right into the Old Town. The owner very helpful and the manager went out of her way to help with any problems we had. Personally we could have done with slightly less furniture and not sure the net curtains added anything but purely a taste thing. Balcony small but useful and partner spent a lot of time watching everything going on. Good to have a bath as well as a shower, had a bath the day we went to the castle, very stiff from all the steps! Was glad we'd booked for a week as it gave us a chance to really explore Prague and not have to rush to see everything. Well worth getting the 3 day tram pass and exploring further afield. Metro clean and easy to use too. Would recommend the Condo and Prague.

Great amenities and location

The property has all you or a couple needs for a short or long-term stay. The location was very convenient with two grocery stores near and multiple trams and buses a block away to zip you all over Prague. I would stay in the property again.

A 20 minuti dal centro

Comodo per visitare il centro, sotto casa c'è il tram che passa ogni 10 minuti, birreria, ristorante e un bel centro commerciale a due passi. La strada un pochino rumorosa, ma l'appartamento è ben attrezzato e ben curato.

A pesar de pequeños inconvenientes con el volumen de la televisión de los vecinos y pequeños detalles que no son altamente relevantes, el estudio es maravilloso y muy confortable. La cama se pliega fácilmente y es de comodidad media, si cambiasen el colchón sería ideal pero no se duerme mal. Hay exceso de mobiliario, se puede prescindir de las pequeñas mesitas situadas a los laterales de la cama de matrimonio plegable, ya que la estructura de la cama ya poseen mesas de noche con cajonera con bastante espacio, además de una estantería en la zona superior. El escritorio es ideal para estudiantes o personas que utilicen el portátil o escriban y necesiten cualquier apoyo. La cocina es lo que más me gustó, super bien equipada y renovada, las sartenes sería ideal obtener unas nuevas. Gran variedad de vajilla en general y utensilios culinarios de uso cotidiano. El baño es idóneo ya que posee tanto bañera como plato de ducha. En vez de armario hay un hueco con dos pequeñas cómodas, un palo dónde colgar perchas con ropa que no pueda ser doblada y una especie de estanterías empotradas a la pared que facilita el doblar la ropa y tenerla a mano. El estudio tiene bastantes accesorios como aspiradora, mopa, variedad de mapas e información de praga, lavadora y secadora en uno, lavavajillas, microondas, horno, plancha de ropa pero no un apoyo donde plancharla... En general la experiencia ha sido increíble a pesar del sonido de los tranvías pasando ya que estás al lado de la estación de tranvías de Spojovací. Lo recomendaría para parejas o personas que puedan convivir ya que es un estudio y no hay casi intimidad, pero es idóneo.

Convenient for Us

Suzanne & Petra, We want to thank you for the coffee maker. It made a world of difference. To All, We stayed for 12 days. The tram and the market are within walking distance. It was convenient to buy a ticket and head out to be among the thousands of tourist and do the touristy thing. It was even better to get away from them and come to a space with a kitchen. We hope to come back to Prague and will look to see if Suzanne's place is available before searching someone else's. Thank you for sharing your home with us. It was a pleasure to live among locals. The property was as described in the overview and great for a vacation.

I really liked the apartment. It was adequate for my needs as well as sunny and cheerful. The location is not as close to the tourist area as I thought. It is easy to easy to get around using the tram and metro. The grocery store across the street has everything you will need. Zuzanna, the owner is very pleasant and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again if I go back to Prague.

We enjoyed our stay here!

This condo is decorated so nice. Great to come home to after a long day sight seeing. We especially enjoyed the balcony and the pubs and restaurants right next door. We've never been on a tram before, but it was so easy and fast to get downtown and elsewhere. We never used our car and it was parked right outside our place for free. Bright, airy, efficient and convenient

Three USA senior citizens stayed for a week in this efficiency apartment and found it suited our needs in every way. It was very easy to get around the city either on the tram which stopped less than a block away or connecting with the metro. We cooked breakfast and light suppers daily, supplied by the large grocery store at the tram stop. The WIFI was excellent for all our devices and it was especially nice to have a combo washer/dryer in the space. The large windows and French door to the small balcony made the place light and airy, even though the space was small it didn't feel that way. The wall bed worked well. The one caution is that the sofa bed for the third person is quite firm, so that sleeper needs to like that kind of mattress. Just FYI for other seniors: people over 70 can use all local transportation free including tram, bus, metro and funiculars. All you have to do is carry gov issued picture ID with your age on it.

Great time in Prague

Writing this just before our last night before leaving Prague... For 6 days, we felt like in our own home... Pretty much everything you need is close, and tram stations are just outside the building to take you to the centre in about 20 minutes... Apartment manager Petra was very friendly and helpful... As of the city, words can't describe it... Neither can the pictures... Just come, see and enjoy...
