Mixed experience - communication prior to check in was virtually non existent. Other than one message in Portuguese and one in French when we booked, there was no response to our messages (sent via the Expedia app, on email, WhatsApp or tel calls) until Expedia customer services got involved I was worried we’d turn up at 9pm and not be able to get in and almost booked an airport hotel as back up. An unnecessary stress.
(Apparently they have a problem with Expedia messages so if you need a late check in, plan ahead. Mine never got answered. )
My partner eventually got a reply to a WhatsApp message with 2 sets of instructions for late check in - one was to a different property.
Once in, the apartment was lovely. Chic decor, well equipped. All clean except for a slightly stained sofa. The bed was on a wooden frame which creaked when you got within a metre of it.
Loved the garden and even used the pool due to some luck with April weather. The balcony was great - usable even in showers as it was partially covered.
We walked absolutely everywhere around the city and it was a great base. If you are relatively fit, it’s very walkable. We liked the area and it felt safe.
We had issues with excessive noise outside from other guests - a very large group from the uk who would have been far better somewhere with sole occupancy or a gym. The noise got bad enough that we went out. The hotel did not address it.
Overall, nice apartment but unsure we’d return.
