„Very nice property, easy access to dock and fishing…IF there were fish!! Not ONE worthwhile was caught but we found that the is wasn’t the fishermen but the waterway which has caused no fish! Your home is very well equipped as you mentioned…thanks! It was unfortunately stupid hot and humid but the two thunderstorms in the week were amazing with the lightning and thunder! „It was a nice get away for our wedding anniversary. We were able to bring our dogs and use the private strip of beach a couple of cottages away. This was a great quiet trip. The only thing that could have been better is the AC in the cottage. A window unit is provided but with 90 temps it couldn’t keep up.“

„We planned a quick trip to Busch Gardens and I couldn’t find any great hotels so I decided to check out VRBO for fun. This house was affordable and had such a beautiful view AND they allowed dogs! A plus all around. We got to see Navy ships, Coast Guard water drills, helicopters as well as Ospreys and Bald Eagles during our short time there. The inside reminded me of my grandma’s house, cozy and laid back. We will definitely stay here again in the future.“

„What a unique relaxing stay enjoying birding, kayaking, stargazing, sunsets off the bridge and watching the kids capture crabs galore. We loved the quirky cottage with its amazing large wrap around window views. Donna and Mike are caring hosts, offering plenty of tips on the area when asked. The island is conveniently located close to Yorktown and not far from Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg. The kids also enjoyed both Yorktown and Jamestown beaches during the stay. “

„Overall great experience and would stay again. Proximity to beach was great. Games, Puzzles, and DVD collection was a fun bonus for the kids. A few minor improvements could put this place over the top. Because they’re older, some doors don’t close fully and none of them lock. Some extension cords with charging stations in the bedrooms would be a nice touch. The lower level does get warmer than the upper level but the fans help make it manageable. We did appreciate the number of hooks available ...

Mathews area is our favorite spot due to the close proximity to groceries, restaurants and day trips. “
