„From start to finish staying at the old manse was a delight . Val welcomed us with a warm and friendly manner.the room was lovely clean and warm with a very good bed Good selection of things for a hot brew And the breakfast was fantastic a real quality full English cooked to perfection and piping hot we also had local kippers delish we cant wait to stay again ps very dog friendly 😋 “

„Checkin was rather lengthy. The receptionist took her time doong the paperwork. Explaining how the keys work took some more time. The room was clean but could do with some renovations. The bed was comfortable. Altogether I would recommend the hotel for someone who needs a roof for a night. Not more and not less. “

„The attention to detail was second to none even leaving a lovely fresh loaf of bread with all condiments to make breakfast toast. The evening roast dinner was superb and our host Jake alongside his ‘sommelier’ Charly couldn't do enough for us. We shall return.“

„We stayed with our young son for 3 nights in July 2024. The staff were absolutely lovely, so welcoming and helpful with everything we needed and great with interacting with our young son. The food - breakfast and dinner - is truly incredible with nothing too much trouble. The only downside we experienced really was that we were in a room on the top floor which, while the room had clearly been hoovered etc, it was dusty in places with lots of cobwebs - while we don't mind spiders, we removed ...

„Mittelpunkt, um in ca. 50 Minuten York, Scarborough, Goathland, Middlesbrough und Ripon zu erreichen. Ebkenso um Wanderungen ins Moor zu machen oder abbeys oder castles zu besuchen. Zum Hotel - sehr nette Belegschaft und das Essen war frisch und sehr köstlich.“

„The staff were excellent, very friendly, helpful & welcoming. The room was clean, warm & comfortable. We booked a double superior room & although the bed was very big the room was really quite small & ready for some refurbishment. The bathroom, again whilst clean, warm & functional, was very small and looked to have been designed & installed by a poor ‘DIY’er. The breakfast was very nice with the staff service again being first class.“
