The mountains are right outside your door.

This is the private upper level of a two-story mountain home, remodeled top to bottom in 2023. You have your own parking, your own entrance, and your own outdoor space — you never share a door, a driveway, or a deck with anyone.

Inside: two bedrooms, a full bath, a living room built around a fireplace, and a kitchen with stainless steel appliances and room to actually cook. Two bedrooms means couples traveling together, a small family, or a pair of friends each get their own space.

Outside is where this place earns its keep. Your private deck holds an outdoor dining area and a propane fire pit — no hauling wood, no burn-ban worries, just push a button and settle in. The covered porch is the rainy-morning coffee spot. The views stretch out in layers and change all day long.

You have exclusive access to the entire upper level — living room, kitchen, both bedrooms, and the bathroom — plus your own parking, private entrance, deck, and covered porch. Nothing you use is shared.

The lower level is a separate rental with its own entrance and outdoor space. You may have neighbors during your stay, but the two levels operate independently and are completely locked between each other.

The Location
Barnardsville sits in the Big Ivy Valley, cradled by the mountains of the same wilderness area — one of the most scenic and unspoiled pockets of Western North Carolina. You`re 10 minutes from downtown Weaverville, a genuinely charming small town with locally owned coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques that hasn`t been discovered by the tourist masses yet. Asheville is just 20-25 minutes south — close enough for a great dinner, far enough that you`ll actually decompress.
Outdoor enthusiasts take note: the Big Ivy wilderness area is practically in your backyard, with several hiking trails accessible just minutes from the property. The French Broad River corridor is also a short drive for paddling, fishing, or just sitting by the water.
This is a place to truly unplug. You`ll hear nothing but birdsong in the mornings, and the only thing on your agenda should be deciding whether to sit by the fire or hike.

A car is essential here — this is mountain living, not urban convenience, and that`s entirely the point. From the property:

This home is in the mountains ~ The driveway is up a hill and requires some skill to enter and exit. Please use care and caution as you come and go, especially in the dark. Four-wheel/all-wheel drive required if snow is in the forecast (possible Nov-March).

Also: this home is in the mountains: Cell service can be spotty in places on the property. Embrace it. Wifi is most reliable.

Finally, this home is in the mountains: you are coming here to connect with nature. If the occasional dead bug on the floor offends you, this may not be the place for you. We clean thoroughly and completely between each guest, but cannot guarantee a fully sterile, insect-less experience in rural Appalachia. We welcome four guests maximum in this space. It is not suitable for children under 12, as the property has outdoor areas and mountain terrain that require sure footing.

This is a non-smoking property, both inside AND OUT. This includes cigars, vapes, e-cigs, Juuls, etc. etc. If it emits smoke or smells, please refrain from use while anywhere on the property - we keep our windows open often and frequently work in the yard and hang on the porch, and we`re very sensitive to smells emitted from smokables. Thank you kindly!

Absolutely no visitors/guests who are not on original reservation.

Please do not flush anything down the toilet other than toilet paper and human waste, we are on a septic system and it`s sensitive.
