We booked this Villa for a family visit for my wifes 50th Birthday. We asked the owner if it was possible to book it within our budget and "RAY" agreed the price! We were delighted. As holiday time approached, Ray arranged pick up from airport, he stated a price for two hire cars, but I stated I could get cheaper from the airport - a bit of "scaremongering re insurance" and he convinced me to go with his price. We asked him to get some general shopping in, which he did. Now we had one car for two weeks and one car for one week. He presented us with a bill, - which we believed excess if, but we gave him the money to show good will. We then find that the owners are living behind the wall of the Bar area! We had no privacy at all! We were told that "sound carried" and the electric in the bar goes off at 11pm every night! Bearing in mind we are on holiday with teenage kids. We compensated by putting music on our phones for background music - we were chastised! We thought ok, we cant do much about this, so don't let it spoil our holiday. By end of week one, Ray (the English owner) approaches me in an aggressive manner stating we have a "list of problems", the main one being that we left the aircon on when we went out!!! We asked how did he know, and it turns out that his wife "ying" enters the villa everytime we leave! Now in our opinion, Ying must have switched aircon off - However we were billed anyway - now we had all of our important docs and private posessions there - who is to say that our passports weren't copied? There was a "frog infestation" around the pool, we had a snake (a real one), a Huntsman poisonous spider to deal with also. You cant walk to the village which is 3 miles away with kids, as my brother and I did it and were attacked 3 times by aggressive dogs, luckily no injuries! The place is lit up like Las Vegas until 6.30 am, and thin curtains, so sleep was disturbed. There are lists of rules and regulations everywhere stating fines would be charged - The day before we were due to leave we were presented with another substantial bill - , some of which was for breakages, which we believe should be in the price, but were happy to pay, but extra cleaning, charcoal, use of washing machine, 5 missing towels (not), was harsh. On last day the wife is caught removing keys to gates and doors while we slept, imprisoning us until payment was made! Of course they deducted money from my deposit for a punctured inflatable, which there are many.
