If you’re planning on spending some time staying in this part of Paris, you’d better have some deep pockets, or rethink what your accommodation needs to be. We are always leaning to the more economic place to stay because we recognize we won’t be spending all that much time in our room.
La Herse d’Or is one of those choices. Its austere room, that we enjoyed, had a small bathroom that included a toilet with a sink you could rest your head on while on the toilet. The shower had a head that fired water towards the corner of the tiled area, but had no curtain or barrier to stop the water from leaving the elevated bathroom to the bedroom. The water damaged door illustrates that water control might be an issue.
Now all that said, the hotel is clean, the staff great and very helpful, but it’s quite institutionalized. If that’s not your deal, and you want to stay in the neighbourhood, good luck.
