Let me start off by saying, I’m a frequent VRBO’er and I have NEVER had to write a review like this. Unfortunately, I can confidently say, of all of the places I’ve stayed (6+ in PCB alone) this was, by far, the worst of my experiences. Which is a particularly tough pill to swallow, because this was also the most expensive.
Heres the breakdown:
Condo:
Layout and View get 5 stars - perhaps best I’ve seen so far. Love that both bedrooms had gorgeous views with giant windows. Patio was also exceptional. Unfortunately, we could barely use it - because our the unit next to us was CONSTANTLY smoking skunk weed on our neighboring balcony.
Cleanliness gets 3 stars. It had clearly been cleaned before we arrived and appeared in good condition. HOWEVER, we found a cockroach in the kitchen and dishes that were out away completely unwashed. EW.
We shared this feedback w the VRBO contact and were literally told (by the maintenance contact who showed up unannounced) “We can’t inspect every dish.” And “It’s just a Palmetto bug.”
*Yeah, Google that. TLDR; It’s a cockroach.
Customer Service gets 1 star. A couple of reasons:
I sent 2 “I’m getting so excited, quick question: are there ____ in the condo” before the trip and got curt “no, there isn’t.” responses.
There was a hurricane approaching while we were there and we received zero outreach (expressing concern, sharing protocols, etc) about it. I finally reached out to ask if there was anything we needed to know/do and got a “it’s probably going to miss us” in response.
When “Palmetto bug” guy stopped by to mansplain the roach situation, I asked if there were trash bags anywhere, and he informed us that they intentionally do not offer more than the original trash bag in the can. And justified it by saying, “but we buy the good toilet paper.” I understand not supplying necessities in bulk. But, an extra trash bag or two wouldn’t break the bank - and perhaps would help with the bug situation. 🤷♀️
I asked about potential refunds due to cutting our trip short (due to the hurricane - but exasperated by our experience otherwise), and we heard NOTHING back. Zero. Totally ghosted.
In short, I can not recommend this place. Maybe there are other units here not managed by this individual (Maureen). I’d suggest going that route - or check out somewhere else altogether.
