„Es war ein tolles Erlebnis, einmal in einer Jurte zu wohnen. In der Nacht im Bett den Sternenhimmel zu sehen und träumen....super. Leider liegt diese Jurte sehr weit oben, nicht zentral, in der Nacht schwer zu finden. Das WC ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber eben man gewöhnt sich daran. Es ist nicht wie zuhause. Das Bett ist sehr gut, super bequem. Man hat alles was man braucht.“

„The host and hostess have put together a true paradise. The grounds are seemingly cared for by master gardeners, the flaura is superb. The yurts are the best sleeping environment, with natural white noise. The convenience of being away but near was excellent. My host and hostess even alerted me to the volcano episodes so I was able to see first hand Pele's fire in Kilauea Crater. I cannot wait for my next adventure here. Mahalo isn't enough. WOW! “

„This house is exactly as described. Room for 8 (if 2 are thin and short or are children). The host is very communicative and helpful. The check in and check out process is very easy. There are games in the basement and the host has a whole shed of snorkels, fins, chairs, beach equipment, etc. Really great if you've come from far and obviously couldn't pack your own.Why this house might not be for you: it is rural. If you want to go to Kona it's 1 to 1 1/2 hours away. Volcanoes NPS is about 2 ...

"Das heutige Colony I at Sea Mountain in Pahala auf Big Island war ursprünglich Teil eines grösseren Resortprojekts, das jedoch nie vollständig realisiert wurde. Die Anlage wurde als umfangreiches Ferienresort mit diversen Annehmlichkeiten geplant, darunter ein Golfplatz, Tennisplätze und direkter Zugang zum nahegelegenen Punaluʻu Black Sand Beach. Heute präsentiert sich die Anlage eher als ruhige, abgelegene Ferienwohnanlage mit einem nostalgischen Flair. Einige der ursprünglich geplanten Einrichtungen, wie der Golfplatz, sind derzeit nicht in Betrieb und warten auf mögliche Wiederbelebung. Dennoch bietet die Anlage weiterhin Annehmlichkeiten wie einen Aussenpool, einen Whirlpool, Tennisplätze und Grillmöglichkeiten. Die Nähe zum Punaluʻu Black Sand Beach, der für seine schwarzen Sandstrände und die dort nistenden Meeresschildkröten bekannt ist, bleibt ein Highlight für Besucher. Insgesamt spiegelt das Colony I at Sea Mountain heute eher den Charme des “alten Hawaii” wider, mit einer ruhigeren Atmosphäre und weniger touristischem Trubel als ursprünglich geplant. Mir persönlich hat dieser Ort besonders gut gefallen, da es sehr ruhig war und weit weg von den touristischen Anlagen. Gut zu wissen ist auf jeden Fall, dass es vor Ort kein Restaurant, Bar, Lebensmittelgeschäft oder ähnliches hat. Die Zimmer sind alle mit Küche ausgestattet und bieten alles, was man zum Kochen benötigt. Wenn man dies mag, ist man hier absolut richtig. Ich hab diesen Ort geliebt und werde bes"
