Imagine waking up to the sound of waves on the beach and birds in the air. If that doesn't appeal, turn on the TV where the Vidanta station is playing morning rhythms or go for a walk on the 5km long board walk and meditate to lo-fi music .

Brew yourself a morning coffee or tea, and step out onto your balcony to sip from your mug and admire the view. Every unit has one, beach view or jungle.

As the day heats up, step into the private cold pool on the deck or wander down to one of the exclusive pools around the property. If you are travelling with children or elders, rest assured that the property is secure -- and though they may get lost on the boardwalk, they will always be found quickly. They are safe.

If you stopped in at the grocery store on the way to the resort or wandered over to the on-site market -- which is well-stocked and reasonably-priced -- you can have your meals in your suite. Otherwise, you might take advantage of the many restaurants available within the resort.

As the sun sets, Beachland awakens with live music, resort musicians begin their shows at the main lounge, the Sanctuario, and the fire dancers light the torches with their unique performances.

I always end the night with a final dip in the private pool on our deck. A wonderful way to cool off before heading back to the land of nod.
