Owned by local artist Helen Prentice, the flat features her original artwork throughout, giving each room a creative and personal touch. With high ceilings, large windows, and plenty of natural light, the space feels relaxed and welcoming from the moment you arrive.

Castle & Canvas Rest sits in the heart of historic Norwich, just steps from the iconic Norwich Castle and the city’s vibrant open-air market. The area is full of charm, with cobbled lanes, independent shops, cafes, galleries, and street performers creating a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. You'll be within walking distance of the Norwich Lanes, Cathedral Quarter, and popular spots like the Royal Arcade and St Benedicts Street. Whether you're after culture, great food, or boutique shopping, it's all right on your doorstep.

Guests have full private access to the entire flat during their stay. This includes both bedrooms, two bathrooms, the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, and all amenities inside the home.

The flat is located on the 1st floor of Castle House, and there is an available lift inside the building (and a stair lift). Access is via a secure entrance from Castle Meadow.


The flat is ideal for up to four guests, with a king-sized bed in the main bedroom and two single beds in the second. The main bedroom has its own ensuite with a walk-in shower and WC, and there's a second full bathroom with a bathtub and overhead shower. The open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area is perfect for winding down or enjoying a meal in. You'll have a smart TV, superfast Wi-Fi, and all the essentials needed for a comfortable short or mid-term stay.

The kitchen includes an oven, hob, large fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, and kettle, along with quality linens, towels, and central heating throughout. If you love the art on the walls, Helen’s prints are available to buy – a unique memento of your time in Norwich.

Set just off Castle Meadow, the flat overlooks Arcade Street and is only steps from Norwich Castle, the market, galleries, and independent cafes. While there's no parking on-site, several secure 24-hour car parks are within a 7-minute walk. We recommend using parking apps (ie. JustPark) to get the best parking spots in the area. Although the apartment is right in the heart of the city, it’s beautifully peaceful inside. The flat is positioned away from the road, and the tall windows with electronic blinds face a quiet pedestrian walkway rather than traffic. Guests are often surprised by just how calm and quiet it feels once inside away from the hustle and bustle.

This is a comfortable, characterful home in a fantastic central location – ideal for a couple’s trip, a small group getaway, or a city break with family.

Castle & Canvas Rest is perfectly placed for exploring Norwich by foot. The Castle, Market, Cathedral, and Norwich Lanes are all just minutes away, making it easy to enjoy the city without a car.

By Train
Norwich Railway Station is about a 15-minute walk or a short bus/taxi ride. Trains run regularly to London, Cambridge, and local coastal towns like Cromer, Great Yarmouth, and Lowestoft.

By Bus
Castle Meadow is a central bus stop area with frequent services throughout the city and surrounding areas. It’s a great link for trips to the Norfolk Broads, UEA, Norwich Airport, and nearby villages.

By Car
There is no on-site parking, but you’ll find several 24-hour car parks less than a 7-minute walk away. St Andrews and Rouen Road Car Parks are both reliable options.

To the Airport
Norwich Airport is a 15–20 minute taxi ride or reachable via bus from the city centre (via Anglia Square or other connecting routes).

The bedding in the master bedroom is high quality Goose down feather duvet and pillows.

Check-in & Access:
Check-in is via a personal meet and greet to ensure a smooth arrival and answer any questions you may have.

House Rules:
- No smoking indoors (use outdoor areas & ashtrays provided).
- Please respect the property and leave it as you found it.
- Quiet hours: 9 pm – 8 am (weekdays), 11 pm – 8 am (weekends).

Damages:
We understand accidents happen! Let us know if anything breaks so we can replace it for the next guests. We won’t charge for minor breakages like crockery.

Terms of Stay:
A digitally signed agreement is required for bookings (sent via email) and we ask for ID to be provided.

Extras:
- Travel cot & high chair available for £30 (request 24 hours before check-in).
- UK bed sizes apply.
