Valentines Cottage at Sandford Country Cottages is a luxurious two-bedroom retreat for up to four guests, combining Arts and Crafts character with contemporary comfort. Named after Harben J Valentine, who commissioned M H Baillie Scott to design Sandford House in 1902, the cottage has been renovated with oak beams, posts and flooring.

Arranged across two levels, Valentines enjoys views over the courtyard and garden. The heart of the cottage is its first-floor open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. High ceilings, exposed timber beams and Velux windows fill the space with natural light, creating a bright yet relaxing atmosphere.

The lounge is centred around a wood-burning stove and furnished with sofas, making it perfect for afternoons or cosy evenings together. Guests can also enjoy a Freeview television, DVD player and Bluetooth speaker. The Shaker-style kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and coffee machine. A dining table provides room for leisurely breakfasts, evening meals and relaxed conversation.

Downstairs are two inviting bedrooms. One features a king-size bed that can be divided into twin beds, while the second offers a double bed. Both bedrooms have private en-suite facilities, with one including a bath and the other a walk-in shower. Each is fitted with a Trevi power shower. The entrance hall also includes useful storage for coats, golf equipment, suitcases and outdoor essentials.

A back door leads directly onto the shared garden, while the cottage’s sun terrace provides a peaceful place for breakfast outdoors, afternoon refreshments or a favourite drink as the sun goes down.

Fresh Egyptian cotton bed linen, sumptuous duvets, soft pillows and free Wi-Fi complete the experience. Valentines Cottage offers warmth, character and generous living space, making it an elegant base for couples, families or friends exploring St Andrews, Dundee and the wider Fife countryside.
