This is a raised shotgun home which means that you will have to walk up three steps to get up to the front patio and four steps to get to the back patio and screened in porch. The house is L shaped with the front portion of the house being a straight shotgun line and single story. While the back of the house is a bit wider and is two stories.
Lets start with the front portion of the house. When entering the front door, You will enter into the first bedroom. The first bedroom serves a bedroom and can serve as a living room if you wish to use the twin size Day Bed with trundle bed as couch instead! After walking through the first bedroom you will see a door on the right hand side of the fireplace that will lead you to the second bedroom.
The second bedroom has a huge closet and a king size bed. Continuing through the second bedroom into a hallway, you will see the thermostat for the front home on your left a door that leads to the bathroom on your left. To you right you will find more closet space that has the iron board and blow dryer.
Through the hallway contains the third bedroom which has a king bed. There are two doors in the room one provides access to the kitchen and the exterior door provides access to the outdoor screened-in patio. Because the third bedroom has direct access to the screened in patio, you can enter into this bedroom directly from the exterior of the property if you wish.
Let's head to the kitchen where you will find recently updated kitchen with cabinets hand painted Rookwood Sash Green and Stone Countertops. Feel Free to make yourself a cocktail with some of the special bar necessities. Featuring a gas stove that is great for cooking meals. Please remember to check that the knobs are turned off after cooking. In the back of the kitchen you will also find a stackable laundry unit with a washer and dryer.
Now - Lets head to the back portion of the home. You will walk through the screened in porch to the back bedrooms. When you get to the end of the porch you will see another door that leads to the last two bedrooms.
Upon entering the back portion of the home, you will enter into the foyer facing a stair case. To the left of the staircase you will walk to the fourth bedroom which could serve as a 2nd living room and has a kitchenette and full bathroom.
Finally, you will head up a flight of stairs to second floor to find the fifth bedroom. The fifth bedroom features a king bed and a sofa/bed futon for relaxing and sleeping.
All of the bedrooms have smart Roku Tv's and all of the bedrooms have ceiling fans.

Our stay was wonderful! The home was quaint, charming, and incredibly accommodating for our family of eight, including two toddlers. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax comfortably, and the layout worked great for both adults and little ones. We truly enjoyed our time and would absolutely stay here again.

Great location! The house is as pictured and there are multiple grocery stores close by. We loved how close we were to Magazine street and also being near the parade routes. Parking was a bit of a challenge during parades but we would definitely stay here again.

Very nice property with handicap parking right outside the front door. The five rooms are made up of two units connected by a screened-in porch. Very convenient for privacy but the big unit you walk through each bedroom to get to the kitchen in the bathroom. A little inconvenient but not a big issue. Extremely clean very nicely decorated beds are extremely comfortable.

Uptown Stay on the Edge of the Garden District
My siblings and spouses booked a stay in New Orleans as it was the halfway point between Destin, Florida and Beaumont, Texas. Trying to find a hotel or rental property that had 3 King beds and located in a nice NO district was challenging, until we found this beautifully restored “shotgun” house on Tchoupitoulas Street! Located a few blocks from the trolley stop on St Charles, and walking distance from Rouses Grocery Store, it was exactly what we needed. Nearby Pascal Manale’s for fine dining and minutes from Beignets on Canal Street while located in a nice, safe neighborhood was wonderful. Our Host, Genesis, is very responsive and I highly recommend this property, which is like stepping back into the 1930’s

Up and coming neighborhood, not for anyone with mobility handicap.
The house is vintage and has nicely been restored however if you have any mobility issues this house will be problematic. Very steep steps into house , outside entrance to third bedroom and stairs. Bathroom in main house is not handicap assessable, toilet very, very low to ground. Had problems with seat breaking and problems with previous damage to exterior door being obviously broken into. Management was notified and did nothing to repair. After contacting Management a worker showed up and began cutting tree limbs and hedges with electric equipment making it hazardous for us to leave the house. Not a good experience for us.

Lots of beds/bedrooms in a great uptown location
This property was perfect for accommodating our large family. We comfortably slept 10 people and had plenty of space. Keep in mind that this is a true shotgun, so you pass through each others’ rooms to get to the rest of the house. However, this is part of the New Orleans charm of this home!
