Owners lovingly decorated this 50's lake house! We loved the mid century details that remained yet the bedding, linens, decor, and outside living (including boats) were all updated modern and adorable. It got down to 60s at night...windows open and lake breeze, combined with the silence of the private location, we all slept better than we have in years! No central A/C but we had cooler than normal weather for august so it was great! Owners supplied fantastic tower fans for every room to keep it cool! The kids' bunk room was PERFECT and allowed everyone space to spread out. Master room bed was so comfy! The one bathroom was a bit dicey with 6 people but we made it work. Having kayaks and the paddle boat was amazing to be able to take off whenever we wanted to. The sand bottom lake area in front of property was great to wade in to catch fish...caught many small bass👍🏻 Water was pretty chilly so didnt enjoy swimming like we wanted to. It was really fun to take the kayaks across the lake, through the creek, and out to Lake Michigan! A great way to spend a couple of hours. Owners had tubes to do creek ride but we liked being able to steer in kayaks around the trees and "muck" on the sides of the creek...to each his own!😉 Great beach at Lake Michigan. Would rent a boat next time so we could enjoy Stony Lake more and pull kids on tubes! Grill could be replaced but we made it work and allowed extra time to cook and monitor the food. We brought all our own food for a week and We had absolutely EVERYTHING we could have needed! Perfect electric skillet for bacon, tupperware to use for leftovers, beautiful pottery to serve food, and plenty of cabinet space to put our stuff. Outdoor table and umbrella were perfect every night for dinner and we enjoyed coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening lounging in the chairs by the water. Family room furniture not too comfy but vintage...we brought extra blankets so just covered them for a little extra softness. Movie and game selection was terrific when not outside by the bonfire!! Saw eagles right on property diving for fish, a black squirrel, and two little snakes sunning themselves on nearby rocks every morning. Easy drives to nearby Hart for brewery, bakery, and groceries. Awesome pottery shop minutes away. Great ice cream down the street. Amazing pies, fresh bread, peaches, and Lavender maze at market 5 mins away. So fun and loved our stay.
