Established in 1933 on the original site of Prince Carl of Solms-Braunfels' 1845 Adelsverein headquarters, the museum houses over 100,000 artifacts, including personal belongings of early settlers, tools, and furnishings that illustrate the daily lives of the community's founders.
The archives feature an extensive collection of over one million photographs, newspapers dating back to 1852, oral histories, and genealogical records as well as permanent exhibits provide insights into the challenges and achievements of German immigrants. A central exhibit, "Telling the Real Stories of German Immigration," delves into the experiences of German colonists who arrived with Prince Carl in 1845.
Additionally, you can explore a reconstructed 1860s fachwerk cabin, providing insight into early settler life, and a circa 1900 city street with 13 businesses, showcasing the commercial development of New Braunfels.

The New Braunfels Historic Railroad and Modelers Society, housed in a restored 1907 International-Great Northern depot, presents a detailed look at the area's railroading legacy.
