A Find! 3 blocks to Gulf and Old Naples- A King, Full Kitchen + Laundry Find!
**** note the correct street address is 387 8th Ave S. Naples, Fl while Google Maps fixes the address mistake. We call this Find!! 387. It is the back apartment of a duplex, with the front unit (385) facing 8th Ave S. . Both units have one floor and are entirely independent of each other. Trash and recycling barrels live beside the garage at the end of the shared driveway.
There are two entrances to 387. The door we use the most is off the driveway. The side door, labeled 387, has one step. This entrance opens into a Florida-style mudroom—a convenient spot for sandy shoes, towels, beach bags, and coolers after a day of adventure.
The mudroom is small but functional, with space for beach chairs, an umbrella, a cooler, beach bags, and the rain umbrellas we provide. The stackable laundry unit and the water heater are located here, along with a bench and hooks for your belongings.
Through the doorframe, a full refrigerator stands on the left—new as of 2023 and extremely clean. The galley kitchen begins with an electric stove, a mounted microwave, a dishwasher, and a farm-style sink, with plenty of cabinet space above and below. The cabinets are stocked with a toaster, coffee pot, blender, electric kettle, cooking bowls, and pots and pans—enough to make anything from pasta to brownies.
We stock dinnerware for four and a collection of glasses for your preferred beverages.
The dining area is just through the doorway, with a table for four tucked into a cozy corner, perfect for eating and/or working.
The living room is generously sized, with a smart television mounted on the wall across from the queen-sized pull-out sofa, comfortable armchairs around the wooden coffee table, and side tables and lamps. The rooms are decorated in tones of yellow and complementary hues. The owner and decorator is known for her eclectic taste and thoughtful placement of art—enjoyable without overwhelming—making the living space both relaxing and joyful.
Although the HVAC system works well, ceiling fans are mounted in the living room, kitchen, and bedroom. White wooden shutters, which open and close at your fingertips, can turn daylight to night with a simple closing of the shutters.
The hallway from the living room to the bathroom and bedroom has closets on both sides. One is for linens and the other for books and games.
The bedroom features a king bed, a dresser, and a mounted television. The linens are mostly cotton, Charter Club and Hotel Collection, with firm and soft pillows available. A ceiling fan adds comfort to the space.
The bedside tables have beautiful purple glass lamps, and the wall art complements them with purple sea coral mountings. The windows have the white shutters that let the sun in or can be closed for a peaceful afternoon nap.
In the king bedroom, there is a wall of closets with two sliding-door closets spanning. These closets are large enough to store your suitcases and hang your clothing. ***A porta crib can also be placed inside; while the door won't close completely, it still creates a tucked-away space for your little one.
The bathroom is a charming pink and white space with a built-in shower and tub combination. The vanity has a large mirror above it. The pink-and-white tiled walls and floors are classic 1950s Florida style. We keep thinking about remodeling, but we realize that once this is gone, it's gone forever—so the classic charm stays.
The driveway is on the right side of the duplex, separating us from the hedge that lines the back wall of our neighbors - The Gondolier Inn. Two vehicles can fit if parked strategically. To avoid blocking each other, please consider parking in the cutout on 8th Ave S or in the Gondolier Inn parking lot.
Beach supplies include chairs, an umbrella, Igloo ice packs, a backpack cooler, beach towels, an insulated beach bag, and a cart. (We kindly ask that you let us know if anything isn't pristine and that you leave items wiped out—others will use these after your stay.)
Everything from bikes and golf carts to fishing equipment and boats can be rented. Tours can be scheduled for historical sites such as the Palm House, the Everglades, and the Mangroves. The Zoo is about 10 minutes away. The Botanical Gardens are about 25 minutes away. Of course, there are one-of-a-kind shops, high-end shops, and art galleries all along the blocks between 5th Ave S and 3rd St S. Then there are the restaurants!!!
The streets twinkle with lights and palm trees. It is quite beautiful.
