    One of Maui's popular vacation spots, Papakea is a peaceful Hawaiian Style low rise resort situated on 13 acres right on the ocean just a short walk to north Kaanapali Beach. The lushly landscaped grounds are immaculately maintained and adorned with red ginger and red palms. At dusk, every evening, the magical twinkling tiki lights are lit and reflect on the Koi ponds through-out the property. Papakea's location is as good as it gets! Within minutes, an easy walk to Duke's, shopping center, Farmers Market, coffee shops, sandy beaches, snorkeling and surfing.

    Canal Repair Project Notice

    Papakea Resort will undergo a canal repair project from December 17, 2025 through mid-September 2026. Work will take place Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Guests may experience significant construction noise during these hours. Equipment and materials will be staged along the canal, resulting in limited parking in some areas.
    Holiday work is not expected.

    We appreciate your understanding as the resort completes this necessary improvement project.

This unit was as described and pictured (I just wonder why there are no towel bars in the bathroom?) The AC unit made a funny noise but kept the unit cool despite the direct afternoon sun. (Must keep curtains closed in the afternoons). The kitchen was well appointed with everything needed to cook or make cocktails. Would stay again!

Everything was as pictured, nice to be on the ground floor. Grounds are so pretty and well maintained. AC worked well. We always enjoy this resort.

Grounds are beautiful, close to ocean and walking to shops and restaurants. Condo is very well used and just needs a little refresh in some areas. Had a wonderful 15 day stay. Looking forward to going back.

Quiet stay

Lovely quiet stay with fewer than usual tourists this time. Love the patio view and access to the waterfront, also to the parking area for quick access.

Perfect Resort in Paradise

Our Resort proved to be nothing less than spectacular. Situated seconds from the ocean with wonderful views, the property was outstanding. A short walk from the Resort found supermarkets, restaurants, food trucks, more beaches, and many other amenities.

We could not have picked a better condo for our vacation. The view and amenities were more than I could have asked for. Our favorite part of the day was watching sunsets over the water from the property. The condo is closely located to an affordable grocery store and many good restaurants. Maui Property was a very responsive company to deal with.

We have stayed at many condos in the Papakea. This was not the most well-equipped condo, but it had everything we needed for a great trip. The location on the ground floor was perfect for our family with 2 small children.

Beautiful!!!!

The property is absolutely beautiful! We loved having a 1st floor unit. The views were amazing! Pool was great. Beach was a short walk to the neighboring complex. The place had everything we needed. They provided beach towels & chairs and snorkeling gear, which was really nice!

Papakea stay

This was a lovely ground floor unit with lanai right near the Koi pond with a small view directly to the ocean through the palm trees. Large master bedroom and then a smaller 2nd bedroom that was great for kids. A great resort with Two pools and hot tubs, covered community Lanai to sit at if raining to still view the ocean! Will stay here again next year

Celebration with friends and family

We came to Maui to celebrate with family and friends before my daughter leaves for college in August. We rented 1 condo and our other friends rented 2 different condos. It was fun snd convenient for us to all meet up at common areas such as the pool and barbecue. The kids had a blast hanging out and playing soccer together and it felt safe for them to have a bit of freedom. We had a wonderful family vacation and would love to come back. Maui is simply beautiful and the staff was friendly and accommodating.

Perfect location at the waters edge!

Words cannot describe what a beautiful and amazing location this was to relax and unwind for our family. The location is on the first floor, is steps from the water, near good food spots and near Lahaina. We enjoyed using the well equipped kitchen to prep meals, the Tommy Bahama beach chairs, the bbq grill next to the pool, and all the amenities. These owners went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and anticipated all our needs during our stay. I would highly recommend this rental for families with kids and people with mobility issues.

Conveniently set

Very happy with this condo. It was clean and spacious! I loved having the convenience of walking in and out of our ground floor patio. I think the master room AC didn’t stay very cool for some reason, maybe the heat from the west sun? Not sure. We love that resort, this was our second trip there.

Our stay in Maui was absolutely amazing from start to finish! We woke up to the sound of waves and ended each day with the most incredible sunsets. Every detail, from the friendly service to the thoughtful amenities, made our trip feel effortless and luxurious.We explored stunning beaches, went snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, and even caught a glimpse of sea turtles! The food was another highlight—fresh seafood, tropical fruits, and delicious local dishes that left us wanting more.Whether we were relaxing under the palms or adventuring through the lush landscapes, every moment in Maui was filled with joy and wonder. We can’t wait to come back and experience it all over again.

Great Location

Loved the resort and the unit was well laid out and located. The dishwasher had some issues, I don’t think it was installed properly so the door will not stay open during loading and it left dishes dirty. I thought the mattress was too soft but I know some people prefer soft style mattresses, so I could be just me. Mostly these are just tips for the owner. I appreciate the opportunity to stay here!

Check in was not until 4 PM and was not notified of this until the day before arrival. Poor. The sofa bed was not made up. Poor.

A little TLC would go a long way in this unit. The ice cube trays were cracked, so very hard to use. The hot water from the kitchen faucet was very cloudy, even after running for a few minutes.Master bedroom door opened when locked. Only 3 trash bags were there for an entire week.. Not enough paper towels, toilet paper, and bath towels were provided.
