„Parking was fine, bar was OK. We were furious to learn, on checking in, that breakfast could not be served until 9.30am (on a Monday?..come on!). We had to be on our way by 7.30. This was totally unacceptable, as this information was not provided in the booking details. The best resolve we could get was a 20% discount on the evening meal. (Whilst the breakfast was noted as 'free' in the booking details, we know the cost is obviously included in the cost of the room).“

„It sounds trite but this is truly a gem of a hotel. Beautiful location, quiet, lovely gardens, very comfortable room and first class service throughout the hotel, from welcome at reception to saying goodbye. Restaurant (Artisan Room) was very good, the staff here so very helpful and lovely with it. Food is fresh, local and well prepared and served. Could not fault it. Good wine list too. It's a beautiful old house and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.“

„We had a lovely stay at Kingfisher cottage. The grounds of Maesgwynne Mansions (on which this small courtyard of cottages is situated) are lovely; this time of year flowering rhododendrons are a highlight, and a walk around took us past the fishing lake and neighbouring fields with various farm animals. There are fabulous views, and the outdoor swimming pool had a cover enabling us to use it even in early May. very peaceful & highly recommended.“

Friendly staff, nice brekkie & recommended if you are visiting the area & don’t want to be in the middle of it all but still easily accessible if you want to go into either place. Very nice!“

„Das Canaston Oaks hat wenig mit einem privat geführten B&B zu tun. Zur Besitzerin hat man kaum Kontakt, die Wohneinheiten sind auf dem ehemaligen Hof verteit. Diese sind sauber und ordentlich, das Frühstück ist sehr gut. Ob der selbst gegebene Begriff "luxuriös" zutrifft? Darüber kann man streiten. Für den Preis finde ich die Leistung angemessen. Man ist leider "ab vom Schuss". Empfindliche mag die nahe gelegene Hauptstraße stören. “
