„We had an amazing time at this Bach. It felt so homely and had everything we needed. the Bach is walking distance to the beach and so many things to explore. it even has a vehicle entrance and miles of drivable beach during low tide. Thanks to Barb and Graham for letting us stay at their lovely bach and we will surely be back.“

„It’s a run down bach! The pictures look great but unfortunately the accommodation is not! Not only the garden needs to take care of. The bathroom especially the shower is moldy. The top of the fridge was super sticky. It might be a good backpacking accommodation but not the one we expected looking at the pics. We decided not to stay there and left the place. „We had a wonderful 5 day stay at Kouto Cove. The accommodation was spotless, with a comfortable bed and very well equipped kitchen. It's an idyllic position in an area we know quite well. Omapere, Opononi and Rawene are all within striking distance by car.....the Maori centre, telling the story of Kupe (Opononi), is definitely worth a visit. We will definitely stay here again.“

„Beach cottage (also called Orowaru cottage) is a gem. We had a great week there. I can particularly recommend sitting on the front verandah watching the tide roll in and out. Deeply peaceful. And well appointed for your every need. We used the cottage as a base to explore the Hokianga and Whangape Harbours. So many marae, so many early churches, friendly locals wherever we went. I came home with a lovely handmade rug from the Kohukohu Village Arts. The little Kohukohu library is another gem.“

"Sehr schönes Motel mit liebevoll eingerichteten Zimmern. Ruhige Lage, direkt am Strand (durch eine Strasse getrennt) gelegen. In Gehdistanz findet man zwei Restaurants und einen kleinen Markt mit Post. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder im Opononi Lighthouse Motel übernachten. "
