„Lovely little place, near a couple of quiet and nice beaches, as well as small lakes and waterfalls. The place was clean and just large enough for our family of five.
If you're looking for a quiet place, away from the city, this is it. We would certainly come back, if they had decent A/C, as it is, it's too hot.
Some points of improvements:
- just 1 mobile A/C unit, we suggest adding 2 so every bedroom can be cooled or - even better - a split-unit A/C;
- not a lot of cutlery, e.g., just one ...

„We called the day before check in and was told that the property was under renovations. Full payment was already made. We are awaiting a refund. We gave spoken to persons at Expedia who indicated that the host has to cancel the reservation first. We are still awaiting feedback and a full refund. Extremely disappointing. Property should NOT be listed and full payment take if under renovations.“

„The house was well appointed and had plenty of space for four people. Ample privacy as the bedrooms/bathrooms were at were at opposite sides. Great conveniences such as washer and dryer. A car is a necessity if you stay here as it in the countryside, but the area is quiet and peaceful. Everybody we encountered in the local community was friendly. We would suggest a toaster in the kitchen, but with all dishes, pots/pans provided it was a minor inconvenience.

„Another great stay! There are more small decor touches around the inside of the rental that give it a more homey feel; from convenient shelves, nightstands, dresser space, to the new deck next to the pool! The deck definitely makes the pool even more inviting and usable. A Peaceful Nature Paradise – My Stay at Acajou Hotel
My stay at the Acajou Hotel in Grande Riviere was beautiful and relaxing. The property feels like a tropical garden with coconut palms and lush vegetation. I especially loved the charming, separate wooden cabins, which offer plenty of privacy and come with balconies and hammocks – perfect for unwinding.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped, with mosquito nets ensuring a restful sleep. From the dining area, you could watch hummingbirds – a magical experience! The hotel is beautifully situated by the river and offers access to the nearby beach.
However, the path to the beach was a bit challenging due to obstacles like a fallen tree. I also would have loved to see more fruit-bearing plants like papayas in the garden.
Despite these small issues, Acajou Hotel is a tranquil retreat, ideal for nature lovers and anyone seeking relaxation. I’d happily return!
