Disappointing first impression. We knew it may not be the experience we anticipated when the front door would not open fully, and cannot even describe the smell when we walked in. Numerous sand burrs throughout the condo so wore shoes at all times. The reviews mentioned it was apparent there had been recent upgrades but none to be seen. We literally purchased cleaning supplies and air fresheners the next day. A list of items causing concern included, disgusting bathroom ceiling fan, dirty living room chairs and rug, kitchen drawers dirty had to be wiped down, and utensils needed to be cleaned, broken toilet stool, patched bathroom sink, tub would drain extremely slowly, don't forget the 3 inch cockroach in the bathroom. However, it is not all bad. We love the pool area, distance to the beach, the town of Matagorda with its coffee shops and boutiques, and the condo itself was cute. Property needed a major deep cleaning and perhaps some upgrades as the reviews had mentioned! I have come to this condo community for over 6 years and saddened we did not have the experience we had hoped for. However, we turned lemons into lemonade and still made our own fun and memories were made. What more can one ask for.
