Check.in staff when I arrived, Lucy, was VERY slow to check in three people, myself and two railroad employees. It was slow not because Lucy was slow at her job, but because she spent most of the time talking to us as if we were in a bar. The actual check in took only a couple of minutes per person, but we all stood there for more than 20 minutes. When people want to get checked in, they’re tired and there are others in line, please do your job and get the check in done first. When this is done and people are receptive then talk is fine. Check out (with a different person) went fine and was taken care of in about two minutes.
Also the much touted breakfast, while appreciated, was sub-standard quality and selection. Many hotels in the same category as this one provide much superior breakfast.
In a positive note, the room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. Given that the hotel is only feet away from a railroad mainline, the room was still quiet and I barely heard trains that passed through.
