Beautiful House - poor communication with owners
First, the house is beautiful and is practically brand new.
Our experience began with reserving the house for two weeks. It was one thing after another….. First the owner messaged me letting me know there was a mistake with the VRBO website and the house was only available for the second week.
The owner later informed me that they only 2 Adults are allowed in the house…. This was not clearly stated in the VRBO listing. In fact the listing states 3 Bedrooms and shows pictures of all 3 bedrooms.
This was a problem as our 30 year old daughter was traveling with us.
The owner explained that they were “now renting and just trying this out, and that the owners wife was a little nervous about renting.”
Communication regarding Check-in was poor: I had to reach out to the owner twice to get check-in instructions. The Owner also let me know that the Heater to the pool and hot tub was not working! The heated Hot Tub and Heated Pool was the main interest that we had in the house.
Customer Satisfaction: After we got home, I reached out to the owner twice, requesting a partial refund since the hot tub and pool were unusable. The owner would not even give me the courtesy of a response.
To Summarize: The owners need to decide if they want to be in the rental market
I have been renting houses in Fl for over 15 years, this is the first time I felt like the owners thought they were doing me a favor, vs treating me as a valued customer spending my hard earned $$ with them…..
