Cozy 1-bedroom log cabin in beautiful Manitowish Waters/Winchester

Moonlight on Hiawatha is a beautiful authentic log cabin on a small lake in Manitowish Waters/ Winchester. Whether its peace and quiet, outdoor activities, a place to work or all three, this artistic cabin has it all. This is a 30 day only rental which lets you unpack your bags and breathe. Winman access is a half mile down the road where there are miles of bike, ski and hiking paths. Paved bike and groomed X-C trails, chain of lakes are all near by.
Moonlight on Hiawatha is a magical place. It is a place where you can literally hear nothing or if you do it’s the wildlife around you. Enjoy the osprey that often perches on the dead tree near the dock, the loons that talk to each other during the night, the fluttering of hummingbirds, and the deer that just pass through the yard.
It is a place where fresh air, calm water and trees around you seem to make life slow down a bit… Magical.
The space is warm and inviting and has all the modern cooking appliances that you may need. There will be the basics in the kitchen like spices, flour and sugar and a bag of Bayfield blueberries in the freezer to make blueberry pancakes your first morning (for some reason this is what I make every time I have guests in the north woods).
The downstairs is an open concept where the kitchen, dining and living room are all together…perfect for conversation. There is one tv and internet service.
The upstairs has the master bedroom, full bathroom and a loft with a bed and work area. A perfect place to draw, paint or craft.
The property has natural air conditioning. Windows stay closed if you want it cold, open them up to warm it.
Please note that a dog and cat live in this house when I am not renting it. Although your space will be spotless upon arrival, if you have sensitivities to animals, this may not be the place for you. I will allow a dog if you convince me that they are super well behaved:)
The back porch has a seating (or napping) area and dining table overlooking the yard and lake. There is a fire pit with 4 chairs waiting for a campfire and s’mores. Because I love being on the porch and outside, I do have my property sprayed for mosquitoes. It has been a game changer!
The lake is mostly rock bottom (at least around the dock) and deep. This is a non motorized lake. There is no public lake access. It is a wonderful swimming/ floating/ paddle boarding/ fishing/and sunrise watching lake. Fishing rods and reels are available along with a row boat with trolling motor and canoe.
The Manitowish Waters/Winchester area is full of outdoor and community experiences. The biking is amazing with paved trails going in all directions. Kayak on one of the many rivers or boat on the Manitowish Waters chain of lakes, the location of the cabin is the perfect. End your day with dinner and live music in Manitowish Waters or a quiet dinner on the porch.
The area also is home to many festivals and weekly flee markets. The Discovery Center is a wonderful resource with more trails, guest speakers and wildlife activities throughout the year.
The Community Center has a variety of activities and events throughout the summer and fall as well.
Due to the nature of the cabin and rules of the state, this is a 30 day rental only. You don’t have to stay all 30 days, but unfortunately you must rent it for 30 days and you can come and go as you please.
