About the Location & Water
This cottage is not directly on the lakefront, but it’s just a short, easy stroll (literally a stone’s throw) from a quiet public lake access point. You’ll still enjoy lovely lake views right from the property – especially those breathtaking Indian Lake sunsets.
Our water comes from a private well – it’s filtered and softened, and most guests find it perfectly fine and refreshing. For peace of mind, we keep a stocked water cooler on site for drinking and cooking for anyone who prefers it or isn’t accustomed to well water.

Important Note on Cooling
The cottage does not have air conditioning. We rely on ceiling fans, great cross-breezes through the windows, and the naturally cooler Upper Peninsula evenings (summers here are pleasantly mild, with highs typically in the 70s°F).

Whether you’re here to hike nearby trails, visit iconic spots like Kitch-iti-kipi (The Big Spring), relax on Lake Michigan beaches, fish, boat, or simply soak in the tranquility, this cottage provides a fantastic, homey retreat.
