„Excellent size with clean and spacious rooms and bathroom. It was initially tricky to call the host on our International SIM card, but one we connected through WhatsApp he was very responsive. The yard had wonderfully scented flowers and the washer was much needed at this point in our trip. If we are back in the area, we will absolutely stay again!“

„A spacious and comfortable lodge with a pleasant view of the lake (not the marina). It is in a quiet spot slightly uphill from the marina itself. Apart from the Canada geese on the grass, we saw tufted ducks on the lake, a heron in the reeds and oystercatchers on the grass. Plus other birds in the trees. Please note that the cooling towers are not visible from the lodge because of the trees. In any case they are decommissioned.“

We really appreciated Natalie and Dan catering for my wife’s food intolerances. Our cocker spaniel was also extremely well catered for with treats and toys. „The cottage is near a park and shops. It's well equipped and comfortable. Parking is across the road in a neighbour's driveway. The garden is down a little path and enclosed, with some lovely flowers and garden seating. It is a good base for Matlock and Bakewell area and other attractions. The only thing that needs is improving are the mattresses in the second bedroom as I could feel the springs.“

„great location on the edge of Oakham, easy walking to shops, cafes, pubs etc. Road parking was fine but the road is quite narrow with cars parked up both sides. lots of outdoor activities at Rutland water. Only 20 minute drive from the historic town of Stamford.plenty of hot water and house lovely and warm.“
