The property was clean enough, but the refrigerator and freezer were not cooling, the front panel of the dishwasher was missing, and the wi-fi was not working. We were only staying one night, so these things were minor problems for our particular visit. My far greater issue was the lack of communication from the property owner/manager. I reached out multiple times via VRBO messaging ahead of our stay to ask time-sensitive questions (my son had a medical emergency, and our trip had the possibility of being cancelled) and never received a response. Furthermore, the day after staying at the property, my younger son discovered he had left a shirt and pants at the home. I emailed the owner/manager immediately to suggest that my other son (who is a student at Leeds) could pick up the items (I also called VRBO, since communication had been poor). The owner did reply with the following email: "Sorry these items where disposed of, I am sorry we thought they was left over on purpose for the bin." Really? When someone leaves clothes behind, your immediate assumption is that they are garbage? The whole communication piece was just bad.
