„A very special place to stay as this was the family home of Florence Nightingale. We stayed in two bedrooms which were the rooms that she grew up in before she went to Crimea. This is not a hotel. It’s more of a guest house with a few of the rooms rented out on a nightly basis. The property is accessed through several gates so it’s on very private land. She explained that one of the staff members had been fiddling with a pressure reducing valve and it must have caused the shower to run with the door open. „One thing marks down the property. Breakfast was not complete. We went for dinner at the White Hart and they had gluten free cereals. I had to ask for orange juice at breakfast. Also, we came back at 22:50 on a Friday night and asked for a beer. We were refused but another resident was served beer. There doesn’t seem to be consistency on food menus or services across the group pubs.“

„The room was lovely with a two seater sofa, spotlessly clean. Nice tea and coffee facilities. The breakfast was outstanding. Lots of choice really nice quality food and very nicely cooked. The evening meal that we had there was also very good. Nice play area for children. I would add the pub had air conditioning, fantastic in the hot weather enjoying a nice glass of wine. Lots of space in the pub, good layout with different rooms and in my opinion a big bonus plenty of parking.  ...

„The staff were very helpful and nice, the bed and bedding were decent, as was the breakfast. Unfortunately it's on the main Derby road (A6) in Milford which is a couple of miles away from Belper centre. The room was incredibly hot due to the recent weather (naturally) but the window in room 3 has no means of keeping it open as the window stay bracket has broken. A fan was provided but made little difference. The toilet seat is also broken.“
