"Das Queens Hotel liegt direkt an der Promenade und bietet eine schöne Lage am Meer. Bis ins Stadtzentrum von Penzance läuft man etwa zehn Minuten. Beim Check-in wurde uns direkt mitgeteilt, dass unser Zimmer aufgrund von Personalmangel während des gesamten Aufenthalts nicht gereinigt werden würde. Die offene Kommunikation war zwar gut, dennoch ist das bei einem Hotelaufenthalt ein klarer Minuspunkt. Außerdem muss man bereits beim Einchecken eine feste Frühstückszeit angeben. Das wirkt etwas unflexibel, zumal man im Urlaub nicht unbedingt schon bei der Anreise planen möchte, wann man am nächsten Morgen frühstücken will. Das Frühstück wird überwiegend à la carte bestellt, daher fällt das Buffet eher klein aus. Die Auswahl der Frühstücksgerichte ist grundsätzlich in Ordnung. Bei einigen Varianten gehört Sauce Hollandaise dazu – das ist sicherlich nicht jedermanns Geschmack. Das Hotel ist insgesamt deutlich in die Jahre gekommen; stellenweise fühlt man sich eher in die 1960er-Jahre zurückversetzt. Das muss man mögen. Gleichzeitig erschließt sich der besondere, etwas nostalgische Charme des Hauses mit jedem weiteren Tag mehr. Insgesamt ein Hotel mit eigenem Charakter, bei dem man beim Service und bei der modernen Ausstattung jedoch Abstriche machen muss."
